No, the G10 never build as 4WD, this are always standard G10 Charade (CB20 Engine).

I have recalculatet my fuel consumption (we calculte in litres per 100km) so the minimum consumption of my G10 was 24,86KM with 1 liter fuel, typically it was about 17,16KM with one litre fuel.

So you can also recalculte by yourself:

Minimum consumption: I drive 565,2KM with 22,73 Litres

Typical consumption: I drive 432,7KM with 25,21 Litres.

my relative had this car, sold in 2008. He had very good consumption. 17-18km/kg CNG in city and 22-24kms/liter on highway.

Which parts (other then body & int, as I've already mentioned) are very hard to find. some people say g10 parts are as expensive as of Mercedese 1970's and 80's

is it true?

I don't know how expensive the parts are in Pakistan, you have to look for compareble parts, some Fiat bumpers will also fit, take a look at the Argentina G10 owners club (http://www.charadeclub.org) there you can see what I mean.

Here in Austria the G10 is long time out of the market, there are only 9 G10 street registered over ALL. Interiour parts are simply not available. Most parts from the Body are still available from Daihatsu (doors, fenders, and a few bumpers are also available but only chrom rear bumpers and black front bumpers), I need 2 years to find a new rear, black, metal bumper, and if I get it it was very cheap, so there is no market for G10 parts here. I also get a front fender for 10,- Euro from ebay or many other parts.

@prince.. parts are hard to find but are available in Plaza & Sher Shah market (my experience).. the G10 has metal door handles, the front passenger door for my charade needed to have a new handle, it wasn't available anywhere else but i easily got one from Plaza (opposite Maxine Line)... the person said there is a vendor who still manufactures the metal door handles for the G10, the shopkeeper bought 20 of them & already got rid of a dozen :).. parts are bit expensive than its G11 sibbling but not as expensive as merc as u say

I have managed to find that G10 brochure which i said was pasted on my bedroom wall when i was a child.. though in not the best of the conditions as its nearly 29 year old now still a treat to watch.. i will scan & upload it and u can also put it in your G10 brochure collection it shows the three trims of 4 door versions while a 2 door runabout on its back!

Have you seen the brochure from the G10 "god-head"?

At the German Daihatsu owner meeting I talk with Andreas Kilburg, he is the man with the most G10 collection in the World!

He own 9 driveable Charade G10 and about 20 wrecks for spareparts, he love the G10 and he bring out a brochure of his "Daihatsu Museum".

This brochure is normaly folded, thats the reason why it looks as it looks!

He has also a very big count of technical detail papers and books, brochures of all from the G10 and much much more, I hope that he will sometimes lay me his brochures and I will then scan it and provide it here!

It's not easy to find such a G10 godness, but he is it!

thats amazing... its good to know people across the world still love the G10.. its still seen in a very good number on roads here..

i also use to have original booklet & service manual of G10 with me for years but now i just couldnt find them, i dont know where have i kept them :s if i do find then i will share also..

We need few people those still owns g10. Those people are requested to post maintance experience and problems they face. We should also give some suggestions to minimize those problems.

Just a few from my side:

1) Don't worry about bumbers & front grill, those can be custom made at low cost.

2) Tail lights can also be custom made.

3) can we swap its engine with g11 to make it relaible? what's the difference b/w g10 & g11?

(if g10 engine parts aren't available, otherwise it's own engine is alright!)

4) What about suspension parts and BLAH BLAH?

Can we also use g11 for g10?

to point

YES, the engine is nearly complete the same, not 100% the same but you can replace it by a CB23 (G11 Charade), the same CB23 engine is also within a G100 Charade (87-94) but you have to change the flywheel, this is different between, but can be replaced by a flywheel from a G11 Charade if you let the G10 gearbox in. If you want to change engine AND gearbox you also have to replace the COMPLETE gear shift mechanism, but I don't know if this will fit within the G10.

The engine block is not the same between G11 and G10 Charade, there are a few major differences between it.

G11 Crankshaft could be build in the G10 engine, but you have to do some additional works, at the side from Cylinder 1 the crankshafts last ring (where you mount the belt pulley) is a bit thicker then the G10 one, so you have to use also a G11 crankshaft seal AND you have to increase the hole on the G10's oil pump cover (where the crankshaft comes out to the belt pulley) to the size from the G11 (if you do such a rebuild please be sure that you have this oil pump cover to gaugin the diameter of this and to be sure that the diameter is correct AND you have ever to use the correct belt pulley mounted on the crankshaft (G11 belt pulley on a G11 crankshaft and G10 belt pulley on a G10 crankshaft)). The oil pump cover from the G10 will NOT fit on the G11 engine and converse), also the timingbelt cover is different between G10 and G11 and could not be exchanged.

this was the charade i use to own long ago.. 1981 model on papers (82 shape).. XG version, black interior..

the second image is when i spotted this car many years after selling it off! it was a pleasent surprise to see it again... last one is when we use to have 3 hatchbacks all white far most is my charade

the engine of my charade wasn't its original but still it was a genuine charade 82 CB20 engine.... it use to have killer acceleration despite the body condition which was average.. i was a youth blood when i owned this one so loved to race with others a lot surprised many khyber, cultus and even 88 charades as putting them in rear mirror was so easy for this car...

i beleive there are thousands of them in our city, & there will be many more in the rest of the country.. parts are not a problem though they are not widely available.. interior parts such as dashboards or steering wheel are hardly existent.

I absolute dont know how it work in your country with the registration of cars. Do you think that there are possibilities to ask some goverment office how many Charade G10 are still registered for street use in your country?
