i use to get 21 km/kg because my daily route allowed me to engage 5th gear for a long time.. secondly you people can consult a good denter as the G10 bumpers isn't too complicated to build. fixing those of any other car spoils the look.. i needed a door opener (metal one) for the front passenger door and was lucky to find one from Plaza market Karachi.. that guy use to sell those specially made for G10 by a local vendor. don't know if spare part market of your city have such shops or not.

My father kept this car for 14 years.It was the first car which we owned.
Sold it for rs:70,000, 6 years back.

I forgot you live in Karachi. These cars are more common in Karachi than in Lahore and Islamabad.

Have you spend something on shocks, GODA, KAMANI etc?
Hope you were able to find its gear and engine parts easily:)

Both sides of excel were repaired ones and i installed new ones with the help of Kharaadia and Mechanic

No work for shocks and kamani so far.

I've discovered a shop in chah-e-sultan which has all its engine, goda, chimta, shock, gear box, suspension parts available.

Hey pals..

its soo wonderful.. to develop such kind of community... its was a trip to memory lane... this is my car of college days.... what a ride, composure, suspension... the only persistent fault was its gear n engine foundation.. always a pain in butt.. but wow wow... what a car?? still strong and running....

if i ever get a chance to own a second car, i would go for G10.... again

back in year 2003 i came across a fully restored red G10 in exquisite condition at one of the showroom near Nagan Chowk, light brown interior & with back wiper too, even the seats were genuine (the same as Rainer's ride) at that time the showroom person was asking Rs. 1,15,000/- for it and it was worth! dont know who was the lucky guy who purchased it, i was short of budget at that time otherwise i would have gone for it!

as promised im uploading that old brochure/ pamphlet of the G10 that i have... sorry that its not in the best of the conditions as i said it was pasted on my bedroom wall when i was a kid and recently due to the shifting of my house the condition got worsened, but i think any photoshop guru can restore it. I have managed to keep it with me for more than 27 years now so u people have to give me credit lolz @Rainer ur most welcome to put it on your website! i also had a complete booklet & user manual of the G10 but i lost it long ago

we see very few cars in Brown interior in Pakistan. most of them have black interior. which one is older? black or brown?
I never knew before that G10 also came in YELLOW color, whenever I saw any g10 in yellow, i thought some taxi driver repainted it for commercial use

black & brown interior difference was found in different trims. There is nothing about which one was older. There was YELLOW color offered officially with the G10 there was one with my neighbors in Yellow when i was a child, it was a 2 door version though.. there were several trims like XO, XG, XD, XTE etc... Rainer might know more

btw XTE have rear windsheild wiper. Have you ever experienced AC on original engine of G10 in summer? 83-onward have "average" airconditioning performence in 40C temp and in city traffic.

yes XTE was the one with rear windshield wiper & tachometer!

as far as the AC is concerned, can't tell u about G10 since my charade was without AC.. however as per my experience of different Charade models, the 87/88 (anda) had the best cooling among all Charade models in Pakistan!

I havn't spent a single paisa on its maintenance for the last 3 months probably, as it is running trouble free

But my daily mileage is 8Km/day and 5 days a week

Its consumption is still a concern for me as it is costing Rs. 10/Km. Mechanic told me that gasket is blown and engine pistons are bad. But he declared it fit for long routes provided I don't drag it beyond 90.

But I have no contol over that as i drag it to 110-115 Km/h when I have 1-2-3-4 and it is touches 60Kph in no time. Heavy car with very good road grip.

Rs 10/km is too high! Although petrol is expensive, but I won't recommand you for CNG. However fixing th engine is the best way, because this car gives at least 12-13km/liter in city & 16+ on long drive. 10 rupees per km means it hardly covers 6km/liter (Toyota Surf, diesel can go upto 9km/liter ;o). I don't think it will cost you more than 8-9k.

I agree, g100 is very good on AC. Even Cultus gets over heated, but a well mantained g100 (1988-89) goes trouble free most of the time.
