Replacing City 09 with Corolla 11?

Yesterday I got delivery of GLI; today we drove it to nearby town...I have one word for the car...its punjabi word...."phossar"

Lucky me; my uncle who lives in village wanted to buy new Corolla and he has taken my car and has paid me full..so i am again car-less, and back to driving my dad's Saloon and wife' Cuore

I am standing exactly where I was couple of weeks ago...and now even more confused due to 1.6 rumors!!

the vvti 2nzfe is surely under powered but if the poster needs economy,the engine will just do fine for him

u might feel the steering to be a bit hard as honda city sterring was v soft as comapred to corolla n yes the ride height will be different as well n ull feel as a bit akward in the start but ull get used to it

Bro corollla steering is much soft than a city thats why it has less confidence and feel on highs speeds.you may check the new one even it turns with three fingers easily.

Bro you shouldnt have sold the gli now as its a market value car and when the facelift comes you should sell it at no loss.Now buy any used car like swift and enjoy until 1.6 facelift comes.

Thats a million dollar question. I am really confused..

• A new swift or slightly used swift
• Keep driving other cars in house for one more month and see if 1.6 comes in March
• Simply ignore the 1.6 rumors; and go for GLI

I don't know if you would like to consider CIVIC iVTEC 1.8L that will cost you something in the range of Rs. 1.630M + 0.620K (registration).

But, I recently bought it and it is giving me amazing fuel economy (13kpl) for a 1.8L engine (without AC). We have one GLI2009 that is also giving consumption between 13-14 with its 1.3L engine.

It may be an option for you....but you are the best judge of your requirements....

I was under the impression that getting a car registered in lahore is going to cost me around 80k Rs. Also how much is the yearly token tax in Islamabad?

I think new shape civic might cost well above 2Mil due to rupee devaluation.I think Civic vtec your best bet.You should buy it.You will probably end up selling it for invoice price after using for over 2 years.Our economy is in deep ***** so expect rupee devaluation in coming months.

So....you are not buying GLI since 1.6L ALTIS is coming.....

You are not buying CIVIC since it going to change shape in 2012.....

BTW the new CIVIC is expected to be priced from 1.850M to 2.300M for different variants (unless something remarkable happens with the pricing structure for locally assembled cars).....under these circumstances.....current version of CIVIC - 1 year old - is expected to fetch good price.....it may just be a good investment....with pleasant driving in addition throughout 2011.....

Any way....it's a matter of personal choice...

I have City 09 (Manual); i am quite satisfied with it; it drives much better than my father's SE Saloon; and I upgraded from Cultus; so I was used to grey/black interior...

Now I have a budget; should I sell my City; and book Corolla GLI? It would be just for sake of investing more into my ride instead of wasting the cash someplace else and get 11 instead of 09 on the number plates :> What are chances of face-lift Corolla 11 in second half of the year?

I am thinking to stretch my buying capacity (15.50) a bit and go for entry level Altis; i-e Altis M/T of 17.05..What you guys think of it? I might have to keep it unregistered / parked in the house for 1-2 months

I will not have to spend on anything; except tyres might be; which I can postpone a bit...1.6 will not be bothering...i might be enjoying the best Corolla engine available

I don't know what are you basing your opinion on about people preferring AT vs MT in Civic and thus leading to a better resale value.

Again, everything boils down to your personal preference. If you like driving AT cars then by all means go for it. But be prepared to sacrifice some extra fuel as compared to the same car with MT and also be prepared to take extra good care of the gearbox.

Sir resale of all Altis are good, people like M/T Corollas more due to less maintenance.
