Replacing City 09 with Corolla 11?

I have City 09 (Manual); i am quite satisfied with it; it drives much better than my father's SE Saloon; and I upgraded from Cultus; so I was used to grey/black interior...

Now I have a budget; should I sell my City; and book Corolla GLI? It would be just for sake of investing more into my ride instead of wasting the cash someplace else and get 11 instead of 09 on the number plates :> What are chances of face-lift Corolla 11 in second half of the year?

Corolla facelift will probably not be launched, but if then after August.

I am getting good offer currently for my ride. So what you guys suggest? Just go for the upgrade or wait till July/August for some confirmed news?

sir i would suggest to wait for it if you are going for a 2011 model solely because you want a new facelift model. IMO new facelift model might come in 2012, as honda is expected to introduce new facelift model in that year. so toyota will surely launch its own facelift model as well.

Well to be honest, civic and corolla facelifts are being offered in our markets already and are getting more n more popular day by day. because of this maybe its possible that indus and atlas do not release facelifts rather just go direct to shape change.

i highly doubt we will Facelift Civic and Corolla anytime soon

Gli = investment
it will sell for more than u paid for sometime next year

take a test drive and see how it feels
i think most of the time its the deciding factor

GLI = investment
but if i was in this situation, i would stick with city 09 and wait till new facelift/news comes

brother you should test drive the GLI first and then proceed, IMO GLI has a small engine according to its size and you may feel it as you are used to drive honda city.

I have sold my City for 12,40,000; now will be booking GLI hopefully early next week...Recommend its color...Also heard GLI prices are dropping by 30,000?

Luckily Toyota guys will provide the car in couple of weeks; unlike earlier when they were taking three months

But; GLI out of box is crap; will need ~70,000 more investment to make it look reaonable; they even dont give us matching mud flaps and door handles

Yesterday I booked GLI for 14.62 in Medium Silver...I am excited; it will come soon
I am left with about 50k more; suggest must do mods...I will not be investing much on looks as I am sitting in the car not seeing my car Also I am not into Music/DVDs any longer...(I guess I am getting old now)

Paint Door Handles and Mud flaps? Should I get it done from Toyota dealer or outside? Approx Cost outside?

Tyres? suggest brand and size? I had been Goodyear fan; have used it in my Cultus (2003 - 2009) and City (2009 - 2010) without any issue (GT3s). Used 195/65/15 in City and was quite satisfied with the grip and handling

Alloy Rims? Altis like Rims?

u shudve waited. new 1.6 Corolla with facelift is coming really soon. i reckon the 2NZFE is way underpowered, specially on hilly areas. u shudnt have sold ur city as engine is ur preference. otherwise, corolla is a better car with much better comfort and all, but u wud miss city's power dearly. the new 1.6 is gonna be a reasonable car as per ur requirement, so why dont u get some info on it, and if it is true, add some more bucks, sell ur booked gli and book the 1.6 ??

the vvti 2nzfe is surely under powered but if the poster needs economy,the engine will just do fine for him

u might feel the steering to be a bit hard as honda city sterring was v soft as comapred to corolla n yes the ride height will be different as well n ull feel as a bit akward in the start but ull get used to it

@waleed80 whats your source of info on 1.6 Corolla? If you have more details (expected date it will hit showrooms etc) please share with us...

City is no doubt the best 1.3 Saloon in Pakistan. I really enjoyed every bit of it and never had any complaint! Its drive was fantastic, best gearbox, best steering...pick was matchless..fastest cooling A/C..more spacious...I even liked its interior more (quality could have better though). Its my kids' fav car...I loved it more than my kids I guess. Nothing comes closer to it in this range

As explained in original question; buying GLI is just for the sake of investment...Hopefully I will save enough by 2012 for new shaped Civic!

On the other note; selling City was not that good expereince; my Cultus sold quickly; but for City I had to be patient and legitimate buyers were not offering that much..XLIs were selling quickly and even for more GLI is just my 1 to 1.5 year interim car and is purely an investment decision
