Hello guys, I live overseas and am visiting Pakistan next month. Usually when I travel to other countries I hire a car from one of the main global car hire companies like Hertz / Avis etc and enjoy the freedom of driving wherever I need and want.
It seems like they don’t really exist in Pakistan, so what is the next best thing - which are the reputable Pakistani owned car rental companies in Lahore and Islamabad? Or is it just lots of smaller firms and you just have to Google some, take a chance and hope for good luck?
Lastly, is self drive completely out of the question? I would love to rent a car without a driver as it would be so much better to drive myself - plus save the pain of having to find the driver a place to live / food / request for tips and all of that hassle. I would only do self drive with proper insurance though - does that even exist? Or does that kind of insurance not exist, in which case it would be better not to take a risk and just get a driver?
