Hello All,

This is my first post on this forum. The project I am bring back to life is a Toyota Carina 1973 - First Generation.

I bought this car about 3 months back it was in running condition, body wise the car had complete intact body parts but in bad paint condition but the good part was no putting or bad stuff found underneath the paint.
Interior - dashboard is in awsom condition of course not working but needs a little bit wear tear electrical stuff.
Seats & roof are original but needs wear and tear, cushioning etc.
Engine is Datsun 1200 condition (7 out of 10).
Suspension, brakes, wiring will be done from the scratch.

Current status of the car - its in the denting phase hopefully the denting will be done by the end of this month and I will finally be able to move on to next phase which will be mechanical phase (Suspension, brakes & engine etc)

I would like the experts here to please suggest the best solutions on engine, paint or any other detail which I have not mentioned here.

Currently I need to know where can I get the emblems or other monograms for this particular model.

Mashallah head turner, where are you from ? Since I am from Karachi need some real good suggestions for the parts and their whereabouts.

But your car seems to be 1978 ??

I dont have much information about vintage cars being restored but this one has been truely made with love and it shows how much efforts and hardwork you have put in to restore this car <3

Ohhh man looks horrible sorry with layers upon layers of poteen and missing loads of stuff . Rust is the no 1 killer of old cars specially Japanese. If i was you i wouldn't touch it , it's done and dusted . Sorry but my honest opiniom

appreciate your opinion. Apparently it seems that it is dusted but you will be surprised to see that its just a bad paint job done before the body is Ok or maybe the best we can get in Karachi due to the weather.

What was underneath it yummy clean better off my expectations the uneven body that you see was all puttin.

Hello All,

Finally the scraping & denting is done now the project is up for mechanical improvement (suspension, ball joints, brakes, tie rod, arms and rear shaft.

Project Updates:
1. Front & rear suspension completely restored with brand new rear springs.
2. Brakes upgraded with new pads (Along with the new disk of Left side) ... Finding the disk was quite a challenge but we found it.
3. Ball joints, lower arms, steering rod (Amazingly found the entire stuff brand new & original Carina parts, the seller in plaza told us that after 15 years somebody came after the stuff for Carina)
4. Tie rod both front & rear joints upgraded.

Next is to start paint job along with Engine Transplant
