Restorating 1980's Cilica

I recently came across this beauty and fell in love with it. So far i have decided upon 2JZGTE as the power house. Need your suggestions on how to proceed with the build. Regards.

that is the coupe corolla - its chassis no. would be xE-7x - something like TE-70. E = corolla in toyota language.

The car belongs to my family friend i didnt ask him what car this was but when i google it it came up as celica cuz it looks a lot like it. nonetheless my plan remain the same ... suggestions plz

Why put a 2JZ? Pease don't. Drop in a 4A-GE blacktop and you'll be in heaven. That would be a very simple swap too, compared to a biggy like the 2JZ.

the elder sister of the AE86 - none the less if someone destroys the charecter of this car with an anvil weight 2JZ. I would call it murder.

I actually kept a Corolla lift back way back in the mid 80s and to be honest found it lacking and insipid in most ways. Lack of power and the awful handling were but some of the issues. Will suggest something very basic: whatever engine you opt for, IF possible actually get it WEIGHED and compare the weight to its current engine. This may sound laughable but you will see the sense of this with reference to braking, suspension and handling. A souped up car is not just about going in straight lines! Good luck

2jZ Is A Simple Kill And Destroying Each And Every Aspect Of Reliability This Can EVer Gave................!!

My Advice For N/A Is 3S-GE Or 4AGE ......And For Turbo...3S-GTE Mated With W-58 .....!

3S-GTE would be enough to make it a fun car.
For JZ series, the car will have to go through some major irreversable surgery

Well i get the wight distribution thing ... it will take some serious work to manage that. But i have a corolla and a swift for daily run want to make this car like wow. And keeping in mind that i will just use the body of the car and use new parts everywhere ...

You have the car & you have to decide how much to pay? - how much the owner is asking. what is current status of car. Is it working running on stock setup or already swapped work was performed. - Price depend 100% on shell condition engine setup papers & paid up taxes.

It is a rear wheel drive car, engine weight is critical to momentum & stop distance over the frame. The power train to rear wheels shall be proportionate to differential just in case you wish to keep it stock. do some critical swap paper work / net research for matching transmission & differential.

The 1.3L 5 speed manual variant of 2 door Corolla coupe was seriously under powered compared to sedan brother 4 speed manual.

the car belongs to a family friend so i brought the car with me to get it checked.. it is not with is original engine it was swapped to a diesel the shell of the car is in fairly good condition but i am going to get it checked tomorrow the papers are all good and tokens paid till date and yes the car is running but its just standing their. the only road the car tastes is multan road after about every 3 months thats it...

i got these rims on my corolla too
