I just PORed a little on the mercedes I have, - not that its rusting - just a preventive measure on the known rusting points of the W124 chassis. rear glass upper gutter rails (used a microbrush) and the inner areas of boot beneath the tail lights.

When I come back for something in Pakistan - I'll surely contact you guys if you want the POR-15.

Splitty work in progress - though slow to various reasons. Painter hasnt returned from his eid holidays.....denter is as usual running after money before eid. Chassis is complete denting wise.....now I just need to primer driver side floor, refinish the suspension, steering etc. paint. Body shall by remounted on the chassis on Monday.

Splitty body is back on the car after 10 months of erratic panel beating and other mechanical work.

The plan was thrown out of the window thanks to the thankless denter and painter.

Where as I had thought that I would install the body on a gleaming restored chassis and here I have a half hearted attempt by the workers concerned. I just want to get done with the body work now and give it to a painter for paint.

Mechanic is busy on my VW Bus and will focus on the Splitty after our cross country rally starting on 18th Nov.

It might just be the time when you complete her and bring her to VW desert rally instead of Kombi. She deserves a flying start after her re-birth!!! And what could be any better than joining and leading the first ever VW Desert Rally in the country, being the oldest known VW of the nation!!!

I wonder if her little engine would pull her through.....will bring it surely if ready otherwise bus is a contender....or wouldn't building a beetle specially for such events.

not much as was busy with rally, then some travelling....dont want to risk giving my Splitty to anyone when I am not around. Planning to take our first test drive on Saturday. Once mechanically sorted out, will start on finishing and painting the body

  Test drive??? :o WOW!! I should really be ashamed of myself! :$

   Pl coordinate via SMS so I can join you for the test drive, I  HAVE to be there as and when history happens. I cannot forget the  experience when I had the honor of accompanying you on the first test  drive of the Austin Healey.

   Saturday eve I have to sign in for work. This Sunday, I should be free. Hope to see you soon.

some update - the body was taken off again as it was temporarily fitted. It is with the mechanic who has slowly and gradually completed it ecxept for the handbrake as he cant find one cable. I have taken off from work today and will go and check the status on the cable and get it done.

The chassis will be driven home today or tomorrow depending upon my schedule as top priority today are my Healey's gearbox and test drive of Ford model A.

The chassis and floor is in primer right now and will be subject to an undercoat spray all over. I have bought a German brand which was the best one available.

mechanical work on the chassis begins....note: I am not cosmetically finishing the work at this point in time as I need to put the car together again and drive it before dismantling again for detailed finishing
