I wish I was as technical savvy as you - this fire engine has only been done cosmetically as the Frontiere Heritage Trust / Peshawar Fire Brigade didnt have the money to do them up totally. This one and the other one I did last year have been placed in their old garage which they intend to convert into a museum of some sorts.
We did some mechanical preservation work i.e. opened the hubs, pulled the axels out, cleaned the sludge and greased them up using ordinary grease from Caltex. I cleaned the spark plugs and poured some engine oil inside the cyllinders to keep them from rusting and rings sticking. Replaced some gaskits including sump as it was leaking oil.
