In Canadian, UAE & many other models, these corollas came with 3 speed auto. Thats why your car is sluggish

Atleast get the gearbox swapped with 4 speed auto with OD option. Will cost your around 40k for the complete job.

Yes exactly you said it right its 3speed manual and thus killing the health of engine, will get it upgraded soon but wanted to have something mind blowing like 7afe auto gear as i believe there must be a diff between transmission of 4afe and 7afe.

There isnt a big difference between 4afe & 7afe transmissions, maybe a minor difference on final drives ratios of both.

So getting a 7a tranny wouldn't do wonders.

Guys, I just faced the issue of power pump whining upon cold start & after 5 to 10 minutes of drive, everything went back to normal.

This issue popped out last week, it was fine before that.

Now since last week, upon every cold start power pump whines & the fluid is foaming inside the reservoir.

There is no visible oil leak in the system, all hoses/.pipes are in good nick.

What could be the issue ?

And this is after drive of just 5 minutes. The pump sounds fine now, no whining.

Still you can see bubbles popping out, which is not good at all.

I tried to burp out the air with engine running. But same results.

Same situation i also feel on cold start but only when i turn the steering right left not leaving it in idle position. Get the fuel replaced because i also got it cleaned all the sludge built up and replaced the pipes, so similar thing is adviced.

Currently your engine is matted with A240L transmission.if you want to change it. A245E will be bolt on swap....but you have to change ecu for it as well and some wiring changes......its ect and much better to drive and fuel economy.

Hey thank you for the response, what kind of wiring changes? And do i need to change the ecu of engine too as my mech told me that the ecu of engine and gear must match so with that gear ecu its matching engine ecu has also to be changed.

This ecu is required.

Are there 2 diff ecu's? 1 for transmission and 1 for engine right?
And after upgrading the transmission one needs to change both the ecu's?

No, there is one ecu,but as you are going to swap ECT....so you required the ecu programmed accordingly.you have to replace your current ecu with the mentioned above.

Look at foaming, there is a leak somewhere in system and air is getting in, maybe tiny but find it. Look for loose hose clips, damaged pipes and can be leaking seals on the pump too.

Water is leaking in my car from behind the dashboard. It seems to be coming from under the screen area from where ac pulls fresh air. It was minor in start but now it creates a puddle in footwell during heavy rains. One denter said viper tray needs to be rewelded. Other said silicon under dashboard needs to be reapplied. Can someone suggest me how to track down the problem and fix it?
