AoA. I have decided to start restoration of my better half's 1969 VW Beetle. Hope I enjoy this restoration. I have started this thread to share this restoration with you people and also because nothing much was happening on the other VW related forums.

Good to hear that you've started it, I'd be very much interested in this thread as I also own a '69 Beetle 1500 currently waiting to be restored. Is that the one with the IRS Setup?

@NaveedRizvi, congrats bro & best of luck for the Project. Restoration to stock would be something which will give you satisfaction at project completion and motivation to go for another, I hope you have the same plan!

Thanks. You have mentioned some new rubber parts from germany. Who are they available with. I will be coming to Isb on 1st and 2nd April so may be I'd like to buysome stuff.

No its not going to be a body off restoration as I am not sure about the ability of the denters in Karachi to do a body off. Also havent seen any body off restoration in RWP or ISb as well.

so what are plans you have? any plans made that what are u going to do in the resto process ?

like denting painting only or a complete remake.

Before removing the interior carpets etc...I was telling my denter that the floor pans are fine .... he said ok and hammered the floor pan couple of times ....... they came off:P

Then he asked me dobaaraa lagaa doon original hain ... I said jaisaa behtar samjhain.

Yeah thats exactly I was referring to, is it US Spec Beetle? Because mine is, and therefore I might find some more info during this restore.
