Hello again. Will find out about the product you mention. Yes, the painter DID work on pieces individually. As u say, it's quite an effort to do this correctly. What you are suggesting is something way beyond the amateurish techniques in use here esp as u take into account the very basic methods used to even get to here. Just as an example I was quoted 190K for a complete paint job from the "IN" place here in Lahore. The work was no doubt brilliant but still didn't have the unbroken reflections u mention and to be honest the difference in quality in no way justified the price differential. All in, the cost of paintwork now will be around 93K which includes the 12K spent on the rubber compound/ underseal etc on the floorpan and the boot. Whilst am ok with spending in what appears to me to be the right direction, am far from the "cheque book restoration" brigade!
As for the interior, after the experience with leatherite on the 109, am not at all keen on it, altho its available in a gazillion colours.....the original materials are going to be impossible to source as u rightly say. That leaves velour and leather, the latter is a waiting game. I waited almost a year for the right shade of burgundy for a 126 from a cple of years ago ; the local dyeing dznt last so it has to be the imported kind. This time I want more of a contrasting interior rather than a matching one. Not too keen on the more typical greys, beige or ivory etc. so lets see.
