You are right Rashid Bhai,Blue spitfire is not complete yet...interior and wiring is to be done.
Actually after the death of my mother,I became so upset and still am that I wanted to get myself involved in some thing of my interest trying to divert my attention (but futile) from the issue.First thing which came in my mind was to play with this car so I started dismantling it without any plans...Thats how it all started..
But now plan to do interior of both cars together...
This is an UN PLANNED restoration..
Lets see how it goes.......

in a way its good, you would know what fits in where, when you open the other car. parts look funny sometimes and one gets confuse how to fit it . so other car will act as guidline

You are absolutely right Rashid Bhai,I have all available manuals of spitfire like owner'manual,workshop manual by "haynes" and another one by "chiltons".And a part of life with triumphs and they are relatively simple cars.So fitting back should not be a problem.But yes this one and these pics will eliminate the requirement of opening any manual..

Inner door pulls were next to go....

First went to remove remote door handles and mechanism...

But then decided to go for door glass and window winding mechanism..

Hidden locks...Which I removed myself because my mechanic had no idea where they were and how to remove them...
just to avoid any breakage....I did it myself with painful back...

After removing two locks...strip was also removed which were holding both runner (note in upper two holes of the door)together..
Just have a look inside the door...very clean MASHALLAH..

how much would a set of tool kit would be and from where, any idea?

and me and a friend are planning for metal slopes to drive up cars to chk underneath and triangle stands to use with jacks

and you pls ask yr mech if he can make them.. thx in advance.

I dont understand which kind of tools you are looking for because there is a very large range.Different types and sizes of spanners...open end or round...then socket sets again different ranges of sizes....Then pullers...splitters.....etc etc..The selection of tools depend upon your nature of work..
Then again a lot of qualities...like Chinese are cheaper but less durable(good for home use).British,American and German are of very good quality and lasts life time..
And now availability....
Main market of tool is "Brandrath road" near Railway station.From there you can get all type of tools..but better go there by rickshaw or with a driver because no parking place available there....
Another place is METRO.I visited few days back and found a good quantity of tools there..easy to reach..
will answer your second question in a little while because have to pick my daughter from school...

Yes it will be in red again..something like Ferrari/Porsche red or a little lighter..

Any grill maker can make metal slopes as per you requirement and size.triangle stands can also be made by them but you can get imported as well from the same market...very good one with a mechanism to reduce/increase its height...
