Sorymwas unable to reply the one I have has 10 fuse space but it does not come with the coverI showed it to electrician who was supposed to do my vw wiring he said it will work perfectly

Anyone knows any electrician other then shafaque in ISB need one urgently?

Updates: 12/8/2012

The wiring is on hold until I get a hold of a fuse box and ceramic fuses. Once I get those in hand, the electrician will only have a few days of work to do.

He does, it was meant to be shipped with the door panels.

In the meantime, try and visit plaza or any oddball novelty spares shop you can think of and ask around for the ceramic fuses, known as 'haddi wallay fuse' (haddi as in bone) in local slang. They are hard to find now. The old M.Benz had them too.

The shop I bought all the wiring equipment from has them, 40rs a piece.

The guy at the shop showed me the ones I posted when I asked him for ceramic fuses.

I'll look for these on my next visit to Plaza.

ask in mercedes spare parts shops the w124 used them till 1995. When you buy them be sure that you buy the copper type not the tin type which are only worth "gaaliyan"

they are also used in a lot of cars but never in japanese ones - I do remember seeing their metal bits only for sale - because their ceramic never goes bad, once the fuse blows just replace the metal bit and you get a new fuse.

Over here I ordered my stock from ebay to replace the idiotic tin ones that MB originally equipped the FB with. Ask some spare shops on Tariq road - you never know..

As always, advice worth their weight in gold. I did not know that the W124 had these kinda fuses as well. I had seen them in the W115 and W123 though.

Rightly said the copper ones are good and the tin/alloy ones are crap......I did not know one can get just the metal part to replace blown ones. If that is so, I hope to find some to keep as spares.

whoever your electrician is - I would suggest you buy some new wire rolls in the colours and thicknesses you want, most probably you would need brown, green, red and black. Splice with solder to repair your old wiring and seal with heatshrink, for the Gen+Starter - buy new cables and put on spade connectors to disconnect near the generator, dont twist tape it.Wiring should be done ONCE for a lifetime, not over and over again. - Most electricians will use one wire colour to save their cost, but it becomes stupid to troubleshoot.

If its well made, well insualted and protected from water and heat and no one monkeys with it then its a pretty sure deal that the wiring will remain good forever, unless the manufacturer put in some really bad wiring - like mercedes benz did in the mid 90s, they put in some biodegreadable wiring insulation to help in easier recycling. WHAT A FANTASTICALLY STUPID IDEA THAT WAS.

The japanese are usually good in wiring. But they cheap out on thicknesses and other sundries like one time use clips/locks etc.
