The rear windows have been fitted, finally! The RHS pop-out lock is broken need to source one out, other than that the rubbers are in good nick and the chrome surrounding just need a good clean up.

Went to Arif (chrome wala) to get my indicator reflectors but they weren't ready. He told me to pick them up tomorrow, so tomorrow I'll be assembling the indicators completely.

Wiring

Got good news, the electrician has agreed to come and complete his work on Sunday. Will crank up the flat-4 via the ignition switch as well.

Upholstery and carpet

The upholstery guy can't get the headliner I requested for that's why the fitting has been delayed. The carpet will go on right after the headliner and rear portion fitting is all done.

Got the indicator reflectors from Arif finally after waiting for almost a week. They were hot-dipped and then chromed. Assembled them, got the respective bolts and nuts for it. Now all they need are the rubber bases, bulbs and another round of polish before installation.

The upholstery guy is said to come on Thrusday. There is a strike tomorrow here in Karachi, let's hope for the best.

Till then, I'll be getting the rear seat brace painted and will get the interior cleaned up.

Updates: 20/9/2012

I haven't been able to go to the workshop for the past two days. However I do take updates on the phone. The rear seat brace has been painted, just need to get two 12mm bolts for it to be installed.

The upholstery guy says he still hasn't received the vinyl yet, he has said he will bring it on Monday for sure. I hope he comes this time.

As tomorrow is an official off, I am thinking of DIY's to do. Any suggestions?

• New fan belt
• Door channel rubbers
• Rear windows inside rubbers
• RHS pop-out latch (have the ivory knob)
• Headlight dimmer relay
• Running board mats

Got the headliner fitted in place today, really happy that I got the vinyl that I requested for

The upholstery guy will come tomorrow and finish off the rest of his work.

A closer look at the vinyl, the upholstery guy said that this particular vinyl wasn't available anywhere here in Karachi he got it from Multan. It's a synthetic leather perforated off-white vinyl.

I believe its the door channel where the rubber channel for the glass goes in. Painter might have found it in-accessible so he left it out of prep'ing/paint process since it would be concealed once the channels are affixed.

Ok.............but it would be better to address now before the rust spreads i guess, and more so after all the hard work done .

Unforunately yes, but I am going to get that bit primered and painted up soon.

Updates 28-9-2012 and 29-9-2012

I got Blue washed yesterday as she was pretty dirty. Now, after I got her cleaned up and since she was running fine I thought to myself that I should take her for a small spin, and wined up going to Defence to pick up my brother from tuition which is in Phase IV. While driving smoothly the brakes failed on me near Kala Pul, there was a dump truck right in front of me and I was coming down a slope. Tried to brake but nothing happened, then I downshifted from 3-2-1 and then switched Blue off. Blue came to a stop nearly a feet away from the dump truck, I was a goner if I had not stopped.

Then after I slowly made my way to my brothers tuition and pick him up and dropped him off at home. On my return to the workshop, Blue's battery gave up near Teen Talwar, Clifton. I called the workshop and told them to send Brendon (son of uncle Harry) he came after 30 minutes and jump started Blue with my March, it started up like a champ on the first try then we slowly slowly made our way to the workshop with me in the March making way for Blue.

I had a doubt on the alternator from the beginning and that's what it turned out to be.

Now, I was suppose to give the alternator for repairing and had to get the brakes fixed up today but due to some other work I couldn't get time to go to the workshop.

Sometimes some stuff comes up that you cannot delay.

Be careful on the road, and please for the love of God replace your mechanic. These are very serious issues to be neglecting.

Good you alive & Safe to narrate the accident with us. as said above by Reezvan You shall be made murgha too for being careless. hammer down ur ustaad both ways. why was there is no hand brake? or you just panicked ? did you tried to isolate the reason of brake failure?
