Restoring a 1965 VW Beetle

Apologies for lack of response and reporting here. To be honest was involved with some of the other cars Will tell all about that on some other forum!
Work on the body had been at a standstill but the engine is being reconditioned and hopefully the entire restoration will be picking up soon.

Hello again all. After months of absence I am finally able to take up the chronicle of this restoration.

I had put the project on hold because of other more pressing issues but now have restarted a few days ago. The car was in the middle of the paint process. Pictures will tell the story from here onwards

Hello again. This particular blog has been totally inactive these last few months but the subject on which it is based has been soldiering on with its "rebirth" and is gradually approaching completion. Here are some photographs of the work done so far :

The major issues yet to be tackled are chroming of the bumpers, getting new dome style hub caps and "dressing" the engine. Some of the chrome strips that run along the body need to be sourced also as does a horn ring and monograms.

Another job to be done is widening the rims to fill the wheelarches to give an effect similar to beetles from 1967 onwards.

So.....it's still a bit of a way to go

the car was jacked up as these pcs were taken so that maybe the reason for the wheel appearing off centre ; thankyou for pointing this out, will check.

I have a 74 beetle that should be scraped however I want to bring it back to its former glory and than it can remain on the road in my hands or whoever has the luck to have it.
I need a denter to work on.the body of my car. Can you suggest someone other the arshad as he is heck busy and don't have time at all for my car.

It's been ages and ages since I put up anything on this forum regarding this car . To be honest I got very lazy about posting here , but the work on the car got completed albeit at a somewhat slow pace .

Am happy to report that the vehicle is up and running and with its owner now . I did mention at the start of this thread that I had taken on this resto' for a friend .
