I would suggest you have an inspection on the inner sides of the B pillars, they corrode near the door catch internally.
The wiring behind the gauges is very basic but electricians love to screw it up, it had some interesting bypass setup when starting the engine, almost all were converted to the toyota/gm system in pk.
