last weekend i revisited Kumrat Valley in Upper Dir and Treked to Jahaz Banda and Jahaz Dand Lake.
i had visited Kumrat in 2007 and had alwayz wanted to vsit this place again. so after 5 years i had the opertunity but much has changed in these
5 years i must say. first af all the 2010 flood has taken away some buti of the place but most disapointing was the amount of ppl there.
mnay locals are now going there coz of somewhat development in Thall and adjoining areas. these ppl are ofcorse ruining the place but still its a very beautiful
place to visit and one must go there......coz the security situation there is much bettter now then it was in 2007...
then i went to Jandrai village and was welcomed by Raja Taj Muhammad who is the senior figure of the village and owner of the Jandrai museum also....
he treated us very well and we had dinner and spent a nite at his place.....
from jandrai village we treked to Jahaz Banda Meadows camped there for the nite and then next morning trekked to Jahaz Dand Lake also called Katora lake
both the treks were butiful and revealing......
the only issue here is transportation.
if u wana go by PT then only 1 jeep leaves form dir for Thall and only 1 returns per day..... (4 am)
same is the case with Jandrai......
so u have 2 catch them or ur whole day is wasted.....
