@asifcae: Indeed a very beautiful place, I was searching for it over google maps and got confused with another Thal which is near Bannu, I am waiting for your map, is it a family friendly place (from security point of view), picture of those trouts are really tempting.

@imtishal: very nice advices regarding trout fishing, if possible can you post pictures of spinners, also could you mention which points are ideal for casting in river and lakes, as in fast white water rapids or slow but deeper channels or as far away from bank or can they be found parallel in shallow water, would spillways of lakes be a good place to cast for trouts, thanks in advance.

can you guide me the exact route of this lake if we want to visit it from dir side cz i am planning a tour to chitral valley and want to add this beautiful place in my tour and want my first stay at dir means we are leaving lahore at 28 june night and at 29 june day we will be in DIR and night we will stay there and then next day we have whole day and night plz guide me where to stay to visit kurmat and this lake after it we will move to kalash and shandoor for polo festival

yar no hotels in Kumrat. there is one in Tal but its not 5 star (heheheh)...

its best u camp in kumrat forest ...............

yes u can get jeeps from thal but they r rare and mostly loader......

its best u get jeep from Dir......

yes this place was very uinheard of when i first visited in 2007...... and it was a dangerous place back then... but now its fairly popular... many pakwheelers have also been there now... its a must c place

The same photo is present in all threads about Jahaz Banda.... and it is also present in google earth.... From google earth it is merely 400m from the rest house? Was it there when you visited?

1- yar the hotel depends upon availability. when i was there wahan sherengle univ ka tour aya hua tha kafi larkay thay.. unho nay book kia tha cottage waisay jabdari say he ho jata hai ...... taj muhammad say rabta ho jay ga wahan..... i think it shud not be an issu....

2- food bhe whan tha when i went but u shud confirm abt it from Jandrai.....
3- no settelments there
4- 9-10 bajay raat ko chalti hai coaster from Karaci compny

yes this waterfall was there in the start but the main watefrfall is ahead
