Is changing suspension from stock to Ironman or other brands worth the money ? I am looking for comfort, not rock crawling.

Hilux, Surf, Fortuner, etc. all are generally known as Truck Family
They are rough & tough but never comfortable.

This question has been asked many times on forums and in whatsapp groups. And most of the time people say Sell it and buy something else

The ironman suspension is very expensive. Not only shock absorbers, but you have to change few other things too. But again it will take like 3-7 laks to upgrade its suspension but at the end the results will be unsatisfying again because these machines are rough & tough by nature.

BTW, I saw trucks in USA like Ford, Dodge, Chevvy, etc. and their 2015 onwards models are quite comfortable.

Firstly remember, its a truck and will ride like a truck.
You can do several little things and each will make some difference.
Change rims to 17 inch, so you have taller side wall.
Run your rig on 25psi all round. so reducing tyre pressure.
You can chk if ironman people can provide you with softer suspension, softer coils and softer leafsprings.
Use comfort shackle with rear leaf springs.
Keep a large sand sack in your rear tray.
Finally change your seats to softer ones.
It won't become Prado like, but will improve plenty.
I know I have told things with lots of expense, now its your decision.

Recommended engine oil is 5W-30.
You can take your pick.
If rig under warranty, than go to toyota and use oil they recommend, get the service book stamped etc.
I think their new 5W-30 has both SN and CF approvals, so can be used in both petrol or diesel engines.
Toyota says change engine oil and filter change in 5k, go with that.
You want better oil, there are few on market, more expensive, Mobil 1, Liqui Moly and others.

I don't think Toyota or anyone else stocks the original oil filter (9015-TB001) that comes with IGD engine. use the alternate (90915-YZZD4) they provide., or you can try importing original one.

yes thats true. 5w-30 is the recommended viscosity for 1GD
