Right- and left-hand Driving

I learned driving in Pakistan and have been driving from quite a few years now,without any major accident ALHAMDULILAH,now as i am driving in CHINA where they drive on RHS which is causing great deal of confusion for me and i have to be so conscious while driving,which makes it uncomfortable to me to an extent that i usually let my friends do it for me.
I will be alot thankfull to any of the members who will give me handy tips to make this easy for me.I still am new to this thing and know that few more hours of driving will be enough for me to get used to it,but still any input would be helpfull to me and others looking for help with a similar story

Hahaha... Same thing happened to me in Turkey. We are used to sit on the right and putting right hand on the steering and left of the gear, but when every thing is reversed, the situation becomes quite odd.
Well, there are no such tips I suppose, and yes you'll be conscious in the beginning just like you were when you started driving for the first time. But then you'll become use to it. Drive as much as you can to make yourself familiar in less time. Try to drive at night in less traffic and try to drive without a load on your head. At most what happen is that instead of indicators, you'll quite often switch the wipers on.

I drive but not frequently as I find it more convenient to travel via MTR. It saves time. Other than that I mostly prefer driver so that I can do my spottings. But I don't have an issue as the cars here are driven on the left side.

Remember:
--> Ignition, Shifting, Viper Control from your right hand.
--> Lighting control are on your left.
--> Stay on the right while driving.
--> The round about goes Anti Clock Wise in LHS driven areas.

Be vigillant and you are all set to roll.

Just takes a bit of practice, that's all. Drive with someone next to you so they let you know if you're doing anything wrong (like turning into the wrong lane!). After about a week, you get used to driving on the other side.

Just Drive more and more. Be concious as you were when you were first time driving the car.

I drove twice here. It was fun.. Loved it... Its tough to keep distances on your right.. But Practice is the only key ...

The rule is simple, driver has to stay in the center of road. This helped me a lot while driving in DK...

i agree, i have driven LHD in RHD countries, and vice versa. eventually it'll all become 2nd nature to you.

And the fun part while driving a left hand drive car is you're almost always going to hit the left door when you want to change gears or pull the handbrake.

I travel a lot and switch to LHD and RHD and now I don't even feel the difference ...

same here - driver seat needs to be in the centre of the road, The biggest major point is

When approaching an intersection - look out the window closest to the steering wheel because thats where the traffic would be coming from. in a RHD country you approach an intersection and look out the right - good, do not do that in a LHD country - because the traffic would be coming the other way.

For controls - no biggie drive a european car they always have their indicators on the left of the wheel no matter if its RHD or LHD. and the parking brake is a cake to figure out too.

It becomes nature to you - if you follow certain rules thats it.

if u drive a LHD car in pakistan frequently and be able to make proper judgments, then all u hav to worry about is about the lanes when u drive in countries like china us etc
