Road Trip Khi-Isb, Advice?

Hello. I intend taking my Altis 2005 for a road trip up to Islamabad starting Jan 4th 2015. Anyone who has taken this journey in the past couple of days, can you please advise me about the road conditions in Sindh/Punjab and situation of fog? I've split my journey between Khi-RahmiyarKhan Day1, RHY-Gujranwala Day2 and finally Gujranwala-Isb Day3 and would prefer traveling in daylights as it is unsafe to travel in fog at night. So given the weather, the roads and the fog, is my plan executable?

I just returned from road trip from Karachi to Bahawalpur.

Road from KHI to HYD (Super Highway) is just OK. HYD to Sakrand (N5) is getting repaired so lots of diversions. From Sakrand we left N5 and took Nawabshah - Daur - Pacca Chang - Kumb - Kot Diji - Khairpur Road (Single but excellent condition) and rejoined N5 at Khairpur.. Khairpur to Ubaru (Sindh-Punjab border) is also under construction phase with lots of diversions.

As soon as u enter Punjab at Kot Sabzal, road is ok till Bahawalpur.

N5 Ahead is also ok (based on previous experiences).

While returning we drove non stop from Sadiqabad to KHI and it took 13 hrs (few breaks of 10,15 mins)

I did Karachi to Lahore on 21st December 2014. I started of 8 am and reached Lahore at 5 am on 22nd of December with one and a half hour break in Rahim Yar Khan for dinner and 15 mins tea break at Khanpur. The road condition till Rahim Yar Khan is terrible. I was at Sadiqabad around 4 pm and roughly the 50 km patch till Rahim Yar Khan literally took me two and a half hours. The road condition did not bother me much as I was driving a SUV but if you are travelling on a smaller car than probably it will take you a little more time because of diversions and because of the fact that you can not just get your car on a rough side track to cross the diversion. After Rahim Yar Khan the road till Lahore is superb. I took Khanewal Bypass rather than crossing Multan which was a single road but in my opinion it is a wrong move specially at night times ( I was there at 1 am) so I would recommend you to stay on N5. If you are travelling in day time than Khanewal ByPass is ok as it saves an hour or two. There is thick fog now a days after Rahim Yar Khan so make sure to have some arrangements for that as well !

Sindh police does not stop SUV's but usually stop almost all small cars to milk some money so be sure to have Driving License,Highway Code book, NIC, Car Insurance , NOC and car book with you.
