I was also there in the end of June.It is a very beutiful place.
We finally reached Kewai...our first experience of this spot in the Kaghan valley. If you recal, on our way up the valley, we were driving after sunset. So missed this and many other spots that I'ved covered in the previous posts.
Time to get our feet wet and enjoy the chilled water of the stream...very soothing affect. And the boys enjoying themselves. Had tea and some fruit that we bought on the way...apples and aloochas
A view from Kewai.
Road works going on at Kewai and the road leading up to it. Imagine we covered this route after dusk.
nice pics coverage and fotography Mashallah. have u visit shogran and siri paye ?
Yes, it is. Was it your first experience?
Thank you...well have left that for my next trip, Inshalah!
The view from where we were on the route to Balakot...clear blue skies and some scattered clouds in the distance. Some parts of the road was under repair or may have been cleared after a land slide...had gravel on it. A view of the road on and a tight bend along the way.
Some development work on the way...
Our first sight of Balakot on our way back from Naran...cannot miss the blue rooftops that are part of the reconstruction & rehabilitation after the devastating earthquake.
Some sights of River Kunhar along the way...
Here are some parting shots of the Kunhar River also known as "Nain Sukh" in Persion. This 166 kms long river originates from Lulusar lake and joins Jhelum river at Muzaffarabad.
After a brief stopover in Abbottabad, we were now headed for Nathiagali.Passed this dry riverbed with a lot of activity, even an amusement park. Saw some magnificent clouds along the way.
See what I mean by amazing cloud cover...more in my next post.
Now this is truly a rare sight for us Karachiites! Amazing!
A view of the road snaking along the mountain...the jeep driver in Naran told us that the condition of the Abbottabad Nathiagali road was in bad shape and advised us to take the Muzaffarabad, Kohala, Murree route. I'm glad we didnt listen to him as this road is in very good condition. And I enjoyed the step drive up.
A common sight over the skies of Nathiagali...
A familiar sight in the galiyaat.
Excellent pictures and narration.
I also went to Shogran-Kaghan and Naran from Karachi for the very first time.I was there from 14 to 16 July. Its a beautiful place to visit and preserve. Inshallah will visit again to view the places I missed in such a short trip.
Our ride from islamabad to these areas was also a City
Dear yasirkhanpk, thanks! We could have gone together...maybe next time Inshallah! I totally agree with you on the beauty of the Kaghan valley and yes we must absolutely do our bit to keep it that way. Same here, plenty of more places to visit in the valley on our next trip which Inshallah I would love to make in a 4X4. Lets see. So how did you reach Islamabad as you indicated that your ride from there was a City. I'm sure the City didnt give you any trouble on your trip.Best, k
