We finally arrived in Nathiagali and the first stop we made was to have our favourite chicken at the Taj Hotel/Restaurant. This is one ritual which tops our list of things to do at Nathiagali.

At one point in time Taj Hotel/Restaurantused to be at the edge of the Bazaar...but that was long time ago. If you havnt tried the chicken there then I strongly recommend that you do the next time youre in Nathiagali. You wont be dissapointed!

The next thing we did was to search for a place to stay. Our regular hotel, the Summer Retreat was fully boked till July 15 which I had known before I left Karachi. I had decided to reccee the place while we were there and drove to Dungagali a few kms away from Nathiagali and found this new hotel (Amore) there. I checked out the place and believe me, I was thrilled to see it. I'm afraid I dont have pictures of the inside but I believe that this is the best hotel (first class standard) after PC Bhurban. Here are some images from outside...

We decided to go back to Nathiagali before as this was wasnt the place we were staying at...so we headed back and here are some images on the way. Clouds, clouds everywhere but not a drop of rain anywhere...I miss the Nathia rain.

We decided to check out his place which is just below the main bazaar before we went up the to check out some of the other possible locations. The New Pines Hotel (old raees khana)...found it very interesting, nice views, could have ben better maintained though. Well we liked the place and decided to haggle and managed to agree on an amount that was much lower than our budget. Here are some images from outside...

pls give me the nos of raees khana ? and where is its location in nathiya gali ? what rae its room rent ?

Sir, the New Pines Hotel a.k.a. the old raees khana and the Nathiagali police station are just below the bazaar...its the only road that leads down from there. You cant miss it. I think its just beyond Afaq hotel (if Afaq hotel is behind you then just look out for a lane on the left that literally goes down). I'm afraid I dont have their numbers.

The rents are usually high but I think this is one place tourist normally dont go and you can haggle. I didnt know of this place and only found out when I went there...in fact I didnt even know it was a hotel. Anyway the chap at the reception was demanding Rs. 4500 per night but we settled for Rs. 3000. The place is spacious with big rooms and includes an extra mattress at no additional cost. They have a kitchen and a dining room. But the kitchen is used for breakfast only and they serve real parathas (the ones we normally have at home..made of chakki ka atta with layers) absolutely delicious.
