Road Trip To Naran

Dear Friends,

I am planning to visit Kaghan / Naran during June / July 2011 with my family members [4 Kids 0.4/yr to 8yr old] and located in Karachi. I never go Kaghan / Naran so I would need guide line / suggestions from all ours friends. I want to visit via Car from Karachi so that need following information.

1. My car is Toyota Corolla 2.0D Saloon [Diesel] 2003
2. I need information about Karachi to Lahore road condition / duration / any stay before Lahore
3. Any idea road distance (Km) from Karachi to Lahore then Kaghan / Naran
4. What is the best route from Islamabad to Kaghan / Naran
5. What is the Road conditions from Islamabad to Kaghan / Naran
6. Advice the good Economical hotel for Family with Hot water and other facilities in Kaghan and Naran
7. is any problem for small Kids
8. Any other useful information would be highly appreciated.

Now, imagine driving through a deep freezer...that's exactly what we did when we crossed our first glacier!!

Never seen anything like this before...only in pictures. This my friends was the real thing!

The same route but via Lahore was taken by me for the same locations from 18th June to 5 July. The only problem i faced was with the brakes of my car while coming from Ayubia to Murree. But if some one uses low gears then he will not have this problem.
I stayed in PTDC Motels at Naran as well as at Ayubia. The motel in naran is bit expensive as it cost 5500/= while the ayubia will cost 2500/= for double occupancy.
Total Kilometers from Karachi to Karachi was 4300 KM
Fuel expenditure was Rs. 14200/= (CNG + Petrol)
Road conditions are good except in return journey between Daharki and Ghotki (Sindh).
Prefer not to eat on Lahore islamabad Motorway as it is very expensive.
The CNG is available on Lahore Isb Motorway at Bhera and Chakri.
Now the Gas holidays are for three days in Punjab to plan accordingly or use petrol.
Hotel in Multan where i Stayed was Sindbad, it is near Kalma Chowk, a Nice place to stay. I was charged Rs 3800/= for one night double occupancy

I have just returned from a 15 day road trip myself visiting the Kaghan Valley and the Galliyaat. Will start a new thread so pl bear with me.

Not that deep, saw many low cleearance cars along the way so dont worry. the streams are not that deep as such. Just ensure you dont rush them as that may affect the brakes as it did in my car. Will inshallah give more details on that in my new thread on a just completed 15 day road trip. by the way, the glaciers in the pictures before Naran have all but gone.

actually its not my cultus at lake, its shared by some1 else...........my cultus is safe, and only visit till jalkhad last year....
