Road trip to Quetta & Ziarat - December 2018

Hello friends

I just completed my first road trip for Quetta & Ziarat . Although i had multiple trips for northern areas but travelling in RCD highway was my first experience. I thought to share the latest info which might help to others.

Dates : 24th Dec to 28th Dec 2018
Total travel : 1572 km
Total Petrol : 120 liters
Persons : 4 adults & 3 kids
Car : Honda City Aspire 1.5
Car average : Highway (14 km / Liter), On Ziarat (10 km / Liter)
Total cost : Nearly 24,000 rupees (except personal shopping)
Weather : During afternoon, around 4-5 degrees and in morning and night below 0.

Overall road condition is very good. Driving at night is very challenging due to single road. Buses travels very recklessly so we have to be aware from them while driving. Didn't noticed any unusual things, Security is all well controlled. On way not too much hotels and wash rooms facility available so avoid having heavy foods during travels.
All way you will find Irani petrol, only Khuzdar have one big PSO pump so try not to use Irani petrol. Any car can easily reach Khuzdar if you full from Karachi.

We didn't go to Hanna lake and Hanna Urak as all dried up, No water in lake.

Expense details

Petrol - 12,000 (5 tanks)
(Karachi – Khuzdar – Quetta – Quetta – Khuzdar)

Accommodation - 6000
(Hotel 1000 rupees per night per room (we had two rooms for 3 night and one night stay near Ziarat in friend’s home)

Food, tea , snacks etc 6,000.00

Day 1 (24th December)
Travel time starts : 8:30 am in morning
Reached Khuzdar : 2:40 pm in afternoon
Petrol refill : 27 liters

Departure Khuzdar : 03:10 pm
Reached Quetta : 09:00 pm (Hotel Haran in Liaquat bazar)

Day 2 (25th December)
Departure for Ziarat : 12 noon (delay due to very cold weather in morning especially for kids)
Arrival in Ziarat : 03: 30 pm

It was very rush day due to 25th December. We stayed in nearby village at friends place.

Day 3, 4 I had some office work and family moved out to see the bazaar.

Day 5 (28th December)

Departure from Quetta : 10:00 am (got delay due to tire got punctured)
Arrival Karachi : 08:30 pm

Thanks for the details and i think refilling at Hub would be good option too.. Hotel charges are very economical, is the warm water available in Hotel? Looking forward for pictures..

I was not sure if i can get good fuel from Hub.
Hotel was okay. Yes warm water was available specially in morning and night.
Heater facility was available from 7 pm to 11 pm after that they shuts it off.

Rugged but beautiful landscape. The road hardly has any traffic on it. Which section of road is being shown?

aoa, did you take your car from quetta to ziarat as well? how much time it took to reach from quetta to ziarat?

Yes I took my car to Ziarat. I am not a fast driver so it took around 3 hours to get there.

Lehrri Sajji is one the best and famous all around Balochistan. Its branches are located at Saryab Road (opposite GPO), Satellite Town and Liaquat Bazar.
