RON 97 for Swift Auto?

I have a little question (or topic for discussion). This thing actually surprised me. I recently got Swift Auto. The manual has recommended RON 87 for manual but RON 97 for automatic. My first question is: is not this very weird? I think the engine is same then why such a weird fuel recommendation - that too very weird; not 92, or 95, but 97!!!

I came to know about this later. Initially I used regular RON 87 (or 92 maybe as recently it has become standard) - the car went okay.

I do not want spend too much - so my question is: can I continue using regular petrol?

If it is recommended by manufacturer there should be a reason behind it. Always use recommended RON as mentioned in manual

Even if the engines are same, they are programmed and tuned to work very differently since the transmission is automatic. And I have seen this trend in many other cars too like City that automatic transmission will have a higher RON requirement

It doesnt say that in the manual.Requrement in 87 RON minimum @shaiki

I don't know about the owner,s manual. But many people use hi-octane for automatic cars. @hamza.muhammad.7355 said its written in the owner's manual
