Hello.
I would not suggest a RX-8 for a 16 year old , not the easiest car to drive in Pakistani traffic and roads. Sometimes in tight spaces the front arches make the driver think there is not enough space which is a nightmare when you are stuck.
Other than that you need to read everything about taking care of a Rotary engine which is easy only if you know what you are doing and have enough knowledge about the engine. I personally started off with a old RX-7 with a good engine but ended up blowing the engine because i didn't know enough about the engine. After that i started learning about the Rotary engine and got it rebuilt. I spend my time now playing around with Rotary engines and looking into the possibilities of getting more power.
Lack of knowledge is the key for a blown Rotary engine like another ahad_civic said that people don't know much about these engines and mostly people who buy them jump from a corolla straight to a RX-8 just because of the price and end up blowing the engine and then swapping it with another engine.
Go for a MR-2 or any other non-rotary car , trust me it's the best choice atleast for a 16 year old. Either that or you can start taking interest in Rotary engines , how they work , proper maintenance and etc.
There are enough people ruining the image of a RX-8 we don't want more of them. Hope i don't sound rude here but that's the truth.
And if someone tells you that the Rotary engine is disposible which it's not, be sure to send him here.
Bye.
