Route options from Islamabad to Bagh, AJK?

AoA All,
Planning a trip to Bagh over the weekend. As never been there so confused about the route options shown by google maps.

1. Islamabad - Kohala - Dhirkot - Arja - Bagh
2. Islamabad - Kotli sattian - Tain Dhalkot - Arja - Bagh

Any one having recent travel experience on any of these? Regards

i've visited Ganga Choti/Kamla peak in district Bagh in august, while going i take route from islamabad to kahuta to azad patan to rawlakot to bagh to sudhan gali to ganga choti.
but azad patan road is in very bad condition, and on start road in sahala is in very bad condition,
so on coming back to islamabad we take route from bagh to muzafarabad highway which connect at kohala, and from kohala we take bhurban road to islamabad. this route was better.

so, route #1 mentioned by you is good option.

Just aside, how did you find the overall Bagh and Gang choti visit experience? Is it really a worthwhile experience or one would feel rather bad that after 4 to 5 hour travel there is not worth visiting place.

i just saw your post, sorry for late, visit of ganga choti was awsome experience, as you mentioned 6 hour travel from islamabad directly to ganga choti, this thing was in my mind, so i planned my trip to go to banjosa end stayed 1 night at banjosa lake, 4 hour travelling distance from islamabad, and then next day travelled to ganga choti from banjosa 3 hour travel. 2 km before ganga choti it is sudhan gali, we stayed in tourist lodges, they have very beautiful huts over there with wide lawn with view of mountains.. prior booking is required 2 days before visit, but luckily i got on spot booking just because a family cancelled there booking and got 1 hut with two bedroom 1 kitchen, electric gyeser installed n working.
you can reserve only 1 bedroom as well.
you can skip banjosa from trip, it is not worth visiting
