Royalshield on lighter colours, would not be showing you much difference in shine (or that magazine glossy look), though your paint still would be protected against sunshine, dampness and oxidation (white spots) etc.
I have got it on a black Toyota and for the last two years have not felt the need for polishing or waxing at all.
I hardly use shampoo for washing it and imagine a black car getting dirt and mud in rain and when you wash it with plain water, no spots or dirt marks remain on the body.
Could it have been possible with a normal waxed car? My answer is no, because for the first eight months, when I did not have it teflon coated, had to get it waxed every month and washing without shampoo did not clean the car.
I have not saved expenses on polish but also my precious time.
