Teflon based additive is also used in car engine oil n lasts over 10000km.

quite misleading here..Teflon based oil additives are proven harmful and damaging to engine over long term. They are only ok for racing engine where desired engine life is few rounds of track

Ok,im kinda changing my take on royal sheild. I washed the car today and voila,the result was better than i expected. Wiping it was a breeze and the result was like i just polished it.

One useful hint, never ever wash your car in sunlight or when the body is hot.

See how it looks after two years (today's pix). Five hours after washing the car with plane water. It was all wrapped in mud after yesterday's rains.

A) Before deciding to get RoyalShield (Teflon Based Coating. Link: http://www.twipakistan.com/automotivecare.html ), One of my indian collegue has forwarded me an informative thread about Teflon coating questions in India (answered by U.S paint experts and normal users).

It is a pretty long debate but a car enthusiast (curious about RoyalShield/Teflon based) will surly love to read it. The rates mentioned here are around 5 years old.

B) Teflon was invented and its Patent was registered by Charles Nixon (Redington Beach, FL, US). It was published in 08/18/1981.
It Claims:-
Disclosed is a paint sealant and method of applying the same to painted surfaces wherein a T.F.E. Teflon in a dispersion carrier is mixed with a fine abrasive in a dispersion carrier and heat is applied by buffing to burn off the dispersion carriers so as to produce a durable protective coating of Teflon. A second hard coating is applied to cover the Teflon.

@Deakin. Nice info thanks, and yes RoyalShield belongs to..........my car, lol. I am just a satisfied customer and you see that when this thread started, I did not have it was asking others opinions.

But that compulsive binge in me forced me to experiment, after I saw their ads for some weeks (see advertisement works and curoisty kills the cat..lol).

im just concerned about the shine..do u think we can get the same shining if we wax our car ourselves?

@cyberjunk14. Hi it's not all about shine, but to prolong the life of the paint, and yes the gloss remains (you can see my example in pix if you go back on the thread, esp with black colour or dark shades).

i heard that in khi they are charging 3000Rs for royal shield and their office is in PECHS Near trakker's office is that true ??

@ocean. It still gives shiny, glossy wet look, no paint fading has occurred yet. I did not polish the car ever after that, so polishing expenses paid back by royal shield, plus it protected the paint against fading, cracking.

These are the recent pictures. Car had not been washed, it was drenched in rain and mud and this is without any cleaning wipe and still looking great.
