There has been much speculation about how Prince William and Kate Middleton will choose to arrive at their wedding ceremony at Westminister Abbey, on April 29.
Although there may be some last minute changes, it appears ( so far ) that Kate Middleton will leave the Goring Hotel with her father, Micheal Middleton, at 10:51 am in the Silver Jubilee Rolls Royce Phantom VI to reach the Abbey in time for the ceremony, which will begin at 11:00 am.
This distinctive claret and black limousine is a 'high top' with large glazed windows. It was presented to Queen Elizabeth II in 1977 by the British Motor Industry to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of her Coronation and was the ' Number One State Car' until it was replaced by two Bentley State Limousines in 2002. Although most Rolls Royce cars cost about 250,000 pounds, the Silver Jubilee Rolls Royce Phantom, with all its security features, costs over a million pounds.
In December 2010, the car, carrying Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, was attacked by student protesters. The couple remained unharmed, although the car was slightly damaged. However, the Crown Equerry has confirmed that the vehicle will be restored to pristine condition in time for the wedding.
Meanwhile, Prince William is reportedly considering arriving at Abbey on horseback accompanied by members of the Household Cavalry's Mounted Regiment.
After the ceremony is over at precisely 12:15 pm, the newlyweds will reach Buckingham Palace in the open-topped 1902 State Landau Carriage- the same one that Prince Charles and Princess Diana used in 1981 on their wedding day.
In case of rain, the Glass Coach, which has a permanent roof, will be on standby. Hopefully, it won't rain on the royal parade.
