For the last few weeks, I had a chance to rev my 1.3L VVT-i engine and drive at a speed of 110 to 140KM/h...while doing so, I noticed that the RPM is somewhere between 3000 to 4000. Even at speed of 100KM/H the RPM is at 2500. I'm little concerned with RPM indication as it may be affecting the fuel efficiency, if that's correct, where an RPM should be maintained (if maintaining a speed is otherwise not important). The speed quoted are all while driving in 5th gear. Share your experience and if possible, what RPM does a 1.6L maintain while doing 100KM/h or above.
