Rpm fluctuation after throttle body service

Aoa all,

I recently did 100k service of my firsthand 2014 city ivtec 1.3 from honda gateway lahore. Tech did throttle body cleaning of the car and idle reset using scanner. Plugs oil and filters were also changed.

Throttle idle is fine at 800 rpm. Now issue I noticed is that during driving sometimes when i press the clutch rpm first increases by about 200-400 then falls and engine noise also momentarily goes up. Note this doesnt happen all the time but enough that it is concerning.

Sharing a quick observation after driving couple of hundred kms.

If the clutch is pressed when rpm is under 2000, there is an immediate increase then fall to 800.

If the rpm is 2000 or above and clutch is pressed, it immediately falls, stops at 1000, rises very slightly, then drops to 800.

Ac was on throughout the above

use few drops of ATF in the Throttle body driver.

am trying to locate a thread in which @Xulfiqar has explained how does mechanic champanzis destroy throttle body. Procedure focus over madly washing it with petrol or carb cleaner, the precision motor lube goes dry and stepper motors are destroyed.

The funny thing is that ive never had to clean a throttle body except on some vehicles which had spaceship mileage and also suffered egr stuck, which literally coated the throttle blade with coal and was causing it to bind. (Literal error shows up claiming that throttle is stuck)

In all other cases, ive never had the urge to clean any throttle or even see an improvement from cleaning it just for fun.

Yes, the atf can save the throttle axle bushings provided the mechanic didnt go ape crazy on drowning it in liquid solvent. If solvent gets into the motor and throttle transmission, it can wear out the gearset causing throttle positioning errors. (New throttle required).

Thank you very much. Yes indeed I found Xulfiqars detailed post on how their use of toothbrushes and solvents causes damage but alas after the service had already been done.

Pardon my ignorance but I couldnt find much on how to add atf to the throttle body driver. Could you please elaborate where it is, or do you mean to just spray some atf into the throttle body?

Thank you so much. Alas I found your detailed post on throttle body cleaning way after this “service” had already been done. Unfortunately this was marketed to me with the 100k service and I stupidly didnt check this forum or the vehicle manual before saying yes.

Please advise on how and where to add the ATF, will be grateful.

As per the honda tech, they use petrol.

Got few drops of atf applied, and rescanned by obd. Believe it or not but the service ambassadors at honda gateway were clueless about this, didnt even know what A scanner or idle relearn was.

Anyway now rpm decrease is steady when AC is off it falls to 800 and stays there.

However, with AC on, rpm falls to 1000-1200 stays there. At times it will fall to 800 at times it wont. At least a couple of items when pressing full clutch rpm shot up by around 400-500 first before falling. Coudl this be related to ac load/compressor at all

check/inspect/clean/replace the pcv valve and its hose and plate (if provided) too if you are experiencing a stuttering or loping idle when the ac kicks in.

I would first drive it around and see what the engine behaves like, it should correct itself after a few hundred kms.

Thank you so much. Ill drive another couple of hundred km and then get the pcv valve checked
