Rubing Polish?

does rubing polish damage the paint of car??
I've heard that it removes the upper layer of paint & damages the paint very badly.

Its called Rubbing Compound. It is usually used on cars with damaged paint due to sun or having minor scratches. It can also leave many scratches if used improperly. It removes a layer of the paint to make it brighter. This can be witnessed by looking at the cloth and seeing the paint come off.

Cars newer than 5 years should just use WAX. No polish even though many pakistanis incorrectly call wax a polish. Wax actually puts a layer OVER the paint thus protecting it from the sun and water.

Well are you sure that compund removes a layer of paint from the body?

Can any body confirm this please?

I think it buffs the clear coat on top of the paint.

Why are you using rubing compound ? Yes it will take a layer off .....

By compund I mean compund polish jo round about Rs.500-600 mein hote hai
which denters use on the body after the car is ready to be delivered to customer(after denting/painting)
also used by ppl e.g. when they are selling their car

when you use rubbing polish or compound after that you have to wax your car to bring the shine back

Yes, compound does take the clear coat and paint off, but WAX does not it stay top of the paint for shine and protection.

i m sure it effect the paints in long terms if u use it often u will see it

if i m not mistaken there is no such thing as rubbing polish its always rubbing compound or something... if i m wrong correct me please. It do have effects!!
