Running on CNG and Consuming Petrol

Salaam Brothers,

My problem relates to my Civic 2002 Vti Auto. I solely run it on CNG but I have noticed that it is eating up a the petrol rather quickly. I have recently bought this car and am unaware of any history of CNG issue on it. I get around 100 on the CNG 55 tank. I filled my car with 1500 of petrol about 2 weeks back (half tank almost) and now its telling me low fuel light...

may be ur cap is loose im mean fuel cap of car. and 2ndly check the fuel lines and try to find petrol smell here n there...

Serious issue... Do check for any petrol leaks from pipes and petrol tank leaks...
A ruptured fuel pipe in engine bay is specifically very dangerous as the leaking petrol can cause a big fire.. if it drops over the hot engine.

back flow pipe of your fuel in the tank is the suspect; get it check as i was having same issue in my baleno

i just checked for petrol smell from under the car and the engine area...there seems to be no smell of petrol....my car starts on petrol and converts to cng on 4k rev. which i normally do in 1 min after engine is warm....could this act consume half tank of petrol in 14 days....

note kms not days or weeks... one can use 1500rs petrol is one day. if ur car is giving 150km on 1000rs petrol then its OK!!!!

iam having the same problem with my suzuki liana with no leakage. it is still consuming petrol even if iam driving on cng.

liana and new efi cultus with factory fitted CNG..take longer time to convert from petrol to CNG.. specially in winter season

its not about conversion bro. i do have alot of knowledge about cars and i know it cant consume both fuels at the same time but it is really weired with my car, i was going to lahore the other day and the petrol tank emptied stopping the car. and it wont start after u refill petrol and will consume cng at the same time :S and there was no leakage.

Guys common, lets not mislead people

Emulator is intalled in a EFI car for the purpose to disconnect petrol supply to injectors.
without emulator installed or properly functioning a little fuel keeps burning along even if u r on on cng all the time

Hmm Why dont you guys installl a relay with your fuel pump so as soon as you switch to CNG the fuel pump stops working?

This will solve the petrol burning with CNG problem as there will be no fuel for leaking injectors i feel in your case and also save the life of your fuel pump.

Any good electrition or CNG wala can install this relay. i got this in my car.

Emulator just stop injectors from working it will not stop fuel supply from fuel tank that is done by the fuel pump. So if your injectors are clogged and they dont properly shut down and leaking because pump is running some fuel will get pass them into engine and burn.

Are there any additives to petrol that can clean the injectors so that they arent clogged anymore...

Just to add that I dont feel anything during driving on CNG or Petrol...the car runs pretty smooth on both...I have a neotec advancer installed...would love to know if its functioning properly...also if the injectors are not shutting properly leaking feul into the engine can this be fixed without engine being opening (i am bit un comfortable with local mechs..messing with my engine)...disconnecting the fuel pump on cng through a relay...does that have any implications..
