Emulator is intalled in a EFI car for the purpose to disconnect petrol supply to injectors.
without emulator installed or properly functioning a little fuel keeps burning along even if u r on on cng all the time

Hmm Why dont you guys installl a relay with your fuel pump so as soon as you switch to CNG the fuel pump stops working?

This will solve the petrol burning with CNG problem as there will be no fuel for leaking injectors i feel in your case and also save the life of your fuel pump.

Any good electrition or CNG wala can install this relay. i got this in my car.

Emulator just stop injectors from working it will not stop fuel supply from fuel tank that is done by the fuel pump. So if your injectors are clogged and they dont properly shut down and leaking because pump is running some fuel will get pass them into engine and burn.

How do i check if my emulator is working properly...any diagnostics...

Emulator just stop injectors from working it will not stop fuel supply from fuel tank that is done by the fuel pump. So if your injectors are clogged and they dont properly shut down and leaking because pump is running some fuel will get pass them into engine and burn.

Are there any additives to petrol that can clean the injectors so that they arent clogged anymore...

Just to add that I dont feel anything during driving on CNG or Petrol...the car runs pretty smooth on both...I have a neotec advancer installed...would love to know if its functioning properly...also if the injectors are not shutting properly leaking feul into the engine can this be fixed without engine being opening (i am bit un comfortable with local mechs..messing with my engine)...disconnecting the fuel pump on cng through a relay...does that have any implications..

Solution to this problem which i had.I have the same problem in Liana 2006, to surprise after some time (mean travleing 50 or 100 km) my fuel guage drops very slowly. i was unwawer to get to it. however one pretty good mechanic of CNG got the solution. it was due to that the connction wich are used in head from cng emulator/advance(sory forget wat one was that) were wrong. three were plugged right and one was direct which was used for petrol. so out of four block one was using petrol and other three were using cng. on putting all these connection right the problem totaly get awaay. now no petrol reduction except the one which used to start the vehicle before converting to cng.
Plz try to look with this angle too, inshALLAH u will get the solution.

Serious issue... Do check for any petrol leaks from pipes and petrol tank leaks...
A ruptured fuel pipe in engine bay is specifically very dangerous as the leaking petrol can cause a big fire.. if it drops over the hot engine.

as per my knowledge fuel falling on hot engine cannot cause fire unless it is ignited by any spark.

Kamran I've been writing about fuel injectors in the last few days. Infact that's all i write about as its my craft. Please go through them, I hope you will find something useful for you. Engine opening is not required for injector cleaning. Injectors are removed, cleaned and mounted back.

EFI cars use pressurized fuel. Cutting off power of the fuel pump wouldn't drive the fuel system out of pressure. As long as the pressure is there in the pipes, clogged injectors will keep on dripping in the combustion chamber

Dont worry it is not a big issue...the only problem is that you need to get the sensor of the CNG button replaced. Therefore....you think youre running your car on CNG but in fact youre running it on petrol because your button to convert from petrol to cng is messed up.

CNG and petrol ek sath chalta hi nahi, car missing karti hay ya start nahi hoti jab mixing ho jati hay. if you know in the old cars or specially in mehran where CNG kits are not auto when we convert direct from petrol to CNG car shuts off and take long time in restarting. is ke liay pehlay CNG ya petrol burn karna parta hay ( CNG converter switch off kar ke ) then convert ki jati hay. iss liay in your car ther will be leakage of petrol from some where. normally the pips who goes from tank to carborator can have leakage. you should re check them.

Also notice when at night time you park your car for long time, did you ever feel smell of petrol arround your car ?? and any stain at floor ??

Its a cng mechanic in BWP i forget his shop name but his name was zubair near millad chowk. i was on tour to bwp from multan.
to answer to the concern by shaizy007, no doubt when both are mixed then it is hard that both run. but in my post i have said that in three cylender gas is running and in one petrol. so i dont knw about full technicalities but its not of matter of mixing, just like if your one plug is weak then car does not stops but have effect on its performance. same case is here and there is effect on performance which on monitoring can be easily evaluated. however might be i am wrong but to surprise to getting the connection right my 7 month old problem of reducing the fuel got reslove. though i did not go to resolve this issue, i wana adjust my cng kit, he himself trace and corrected and asked me that it would have been reducing fuel. sooo its all the story.

the car runs perfectly fine except that the car consumes around 1liter of petrol for every 8km I drive on cng (i never drive on petrol its only used to start the car) so now the fuel cost/km is 10(petrol)+3(cng) = 13rs/liter i have to drive around 40km/day so the cost goes from 120rs/day to 520rs / day to which is way too expensive please help me out what can i do about the issue i live in karachi in gulshan

iam having the same problem with my suzuki liana with no leakage. it is still consuming petrol even if iam driving on cng.

Sir,Liana always starts on Petrol and stays on petrol for Few kms,Atleast till required engine tempurature is attained.

Every 8km and one litre of fuel used? Sounds like its running entirely on petrol and that too very inefficient.

1. Make sure it changes over. FF Lancer's systems ensure that it doesn't change over unless the car heats up to a certain temp. Hope that your cooling fan isn't 'direct'. Its a favourite pass-time for mechanics.

2. Check for petrol leaks. If the fuel tank has easy breathing, then all the petrol is probably vaporizing & escaping

RECENTLY I GOT INSTALLED CNG IN MY NISSAN MARCH, FACING SAME PROBLEM . INFECT I WENT TO LAHORE TO MEET MY FRIEND AND HE GIFTED ME COMPLETE CNG KIT FOR MY CAR . WE GOT IT INSTALLED FROM LOCAL MECHANIC AND I DROVE BACK AND OBSERVED THAT THE CAR IS CONSUMING BOTH FUELS:o. TILL REACHING ISLAMABAD I CONSUMED A TANK OF CNG AND HALF TANK OF PETROL. OPENED UP COMMENTS ON PW AND FINALLY CONSULTED A CNG MECHANIC , REFERRED BY ONE OF MY FRIEND. THE MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT WIRING IS MESSED UP THATS WHY IT IS CONSUMING PETROL TOO AND IT WILL KEEP ON CONSUMING PETROL WHETHER TO MANUALLY SWITCH OFF THE FUEL PUMP SUPPLY. HE OFFERED ME TO VISIT HIM AND HE WILL RECTIFY THE PROBLEM. I WILL GO TO THE MECHANIC AND INFORM YOU THE RESULTS IN DETAIL TO UPDATE YOUR KNOWLEDGE / INFORMATION / PROBLEMS
