Rust Removal From Rim

Salam all.
I need Expert opinion regarding removal of rust from the rim. I have to do it at home. So plz suggest some cheap and speedy method for this work.

It will be cheaper and more convenient to buy new or used rims.

Actually its not for the car but i have to do a DIY project. For that i need to remove the rust and paint it with some decent colour

The best way is media blasting, followed by phosphate primer and then paint or powdercoating. You could use a paint stripper and then a rust converter or sandpaper to prepare the surface for painting. It all depends on what facilities are available and what level of finish you require for your project, for a given cost.

So i should remove the paint first with paint removal followed by rust remover( Does it come in spray, liquid or powder form?) and the rub with sandpaper( of which number to be used?) followed by primer and spray. Right?
