well a 1jzgte would be the most economical ... considering the cost of the swap: about 1.5 -2 lacs and also would be quite economical to run 8-10km/ltr .... though handling would go down the drain.
theoretically a 20v blacktop could also be an option; though it would be sluggish.
3sgte could be an option ....
sr20det is the best option:though nothing beats a rotary in an rx8 and thats my final verdict

so i guess you changed your mind. Can people here judge whether the rotary engine is in good condition or not? i am interested in buying an rx8 with a price range to about 1.4. So im guessing the ones in that range might not be in the best of state. Any advice?. also keeping in mind the oil changes and regular servicing, what do you think would be the average cost of keeping one

ya its very difficult to swap engine of mazda rx8 because the whole car is made for rotatory technology so you can`t put sa simple engine in it

bro, your only option is 3S-fe. its about 50,000 130 hp. 1 swap of 3sfe in done in lahore. if you are after economy, thats the way to go. but dont expect any kind of performance from it.

after driving various swapped rx8s i have finally arrived at THE CONCLUSION ....
wait for it ...... wait for it ..... The most economical and practical engine swap in a rx8 is .... 1jzge . it costs around 55k , produces 200hp ,very easily available , all spares available and it still beats a type e manual rx8 and gives 10-11 km/l (consistently) so here you go if anyone is thinking of swaping a rx8 1jzge is your most economical and practical solution.

well a swaped rx8 is hard to drive , you have to be on your toes .... e.g (theoretically) i would never let my son drive a 1jzgte or sr20 rx8 but i would allow him a type s rotary (H) .... owning a swaped rx8 doesn't change the way how the car handles

yup hitting the throttle is the tricky part .... i have heard many stories of people buying swapped rx8s and crashing it on their first date .... usually its the rear fender kissing the pavement :o
