There are some methods to do it, i am gonna mention the one i watched on YouTube(EricTheCarguy compression test)

You basically take out the spark plugs, insert the PSI gauge, and crank the engine cylinder by cylinder. There are 2 tests for each cylinder;
A dry one and a wet one. For the wet one, lube the cylinder with a bit of oil and then do it.
Go to a good reputable workshop, and get them to do it for you since it's a rotary:)

The experts can guide you best- i just mentioned what i saw!

This link has everything you need to know, even if you get this done from a workshop, try to make sure they follow these steps. It should include ideal engine results which shows that the engine is healthy:D

just because rx8s have gone cheap in pakistan they r being abused.........its a car to be given some respect.

considering fuel economy....its like driving a lexus lx570 you get 5 km a litre in city trafic and ull be fetching 7 on good.
days.

again a good fresh import rx8 is impossible cuz prices in japan itself r in excess of 25000 usd which sums to 25.5 lacks pak.

used rx8s yes to find an original 1 look at spending 18.

yes for ur budget ull be getting swapped ones....and i think thats the best option for you.. considering selling an rx8 above 12 is realy difficult. simply cuz they r unreliable and ppl fear in getting trapped.

so yes if ur lucky ull fin an 8 for arround 8 lacks which will be swapped tune it to ur frequency havse fun and then sell it for the same.

but personaly my advice is invest wisely buy a civic or rolla for that money sel it at the same price when ever u want and live trouble free

Bro I am buying rolla (corolla) too for my family and rx8 for performance
Fuel efficiency rx8 is fuel sucker thats why I am going for swap better fuel efficiency and more power than stock and I won't be selling it thats why I am taking my time before buying one and

i cant say about swaped but rx8 on its genuine engine is like nothing u have ever driven the sound is sweet......and the power delivery is like ur rx is floating over water. with unbelieveable revs.........just lacks that serious torque.

basicly thats what i did.

so now yea be patient find a desperate buyer like i was once. rip him off and buy it for 1 mil.

so heres my advice.......dont listen to any moron and make sure u buy it on genuine engine..... in genuine condition......all electronics working.

just check the rpm meter.........the best sign to check a rotary is its rpm needle should be stable at 900 rpm idle and should rev all the way to 9500.

Absolutely correct.

usually the ones within 1 mln budget have swapped setups , clearance and other problems occur usually after swaps and keep in mind swapped setups have the least stability
increase ur budget and buy a fresh import rx8 and maintain the rotary - the best part of rx8 is the engine itself , its fun to drive
if fuel efficiency is not a con so why go for abused swapped setups ?
the rotary itself has quite some power and is a heavy fuel drinking machine too
buy typeS and with 230 horses , u wont need to go for upgrades

RX8 is amazing, the ride, acceleration feel every thing is out of this world BUT i am talking about an RX8 in its original condition. No idea how swap works but i definetly would never buy a swapped rx8.
