Gold Market

Famous Gold Market is located in the Diera Dubai. Every visitor, tourist & local people come to visit this place. This market remains full of people (Majority are window shoppers because they are just group tourists) who come to look at the amazing gold products. It is a good experience to visit this market. Around this market, there are wholesale markets of different commodities too. Here gold is cheaper.

Be careful: Here agents in the street are quite pushy. They try to attempt every try to catch the customer. So, do not listen to them. You just visit the shop yourself to buy any gold. Those agents also try to sell fake watches to you. Being a wise visitors just ignore them.

Thank you very much for your compliments. Since few, days I've been quite busy. On Monday, I shall share more things. May be about Burj ul Khalifa. I have to seek permission from my host if I can publish our personal snaps or not about Burj ul Khalifa. Last time, when I was in Iran, & I shared my experience here at Pak wheels then I was requested by my few Local Iranians host to hide their identity to avoid any uncomfortable situation for them. So, I shared general snaps with the readers. Now, in this thread related to UAE too, I have to make sure the privacy of the certain hosts because UAE is not a democratic country and I do not want to create any problem for my any host. So If I shall not get permission then still, I shall try to share those snaps which will not shown their identity but it will quite interesting for those readers who wants to see that how it looks like around from 148th floor.
Those who can afford it, I must suggest them to visit the Burj ul Khalifa to witness the wonderful bird's eye view view around. God willing, on Monday.......I shall share.....

Very nice pictures. Really like the Gold city pictures. Arabs love to show off their wealth and they are blessed with a lot of money. But I think Dubai is a soul less city, all too mechanical, much like New York, Chicago or London. Very robotic, schedule bound, artificial life revolving around money, money and just money. Pure capitalistic society which revolves around money.

I beg to differ. Having lived in London for a long long time, I know for a fact, that there is a 100+ years history behind every brick there. For soul searchers, London is a good city to live and blossom your inner self.

Dubai, on the other hand, is pretty to look but definitely soul free. Cant take anything away from their vision and pursuit of excellence.

Burj Khalifa
Burj Khalifa is a tallest building of the world. It has 162 floors. If you can afford then you must go to visit it. It is mind blowing experience of looking around from the 124[SUP]th[/SUP] floor or 125[SUP]th[/SUP] floor or 148[SUP]th[/SUP] floor. (Visitors are allowed to see around the Dubai on these three floors). It presents a breathtaking view indeed.
Enterance:
If you want to buy a ticket or if you even buy the ticket online then in both cases, visiting entrance is from inside the Dubai Mall. It is a big shopping mall adjacent to the Burj ul Khalifa. It has different enterances. So, you can entre from any door. You shall see a information desk or security gurad. You just ask them that you want to go to the counter of the Burj khalifa. They will guide you. When you reach the counter, you shall buy a ticket & then they shall allow you to enter in the waiting area. Guide will take you to the required floor on Elevator.
For those who purchase online ticket.
Remember, You shall not be taken through the main door of the Burj ul Khalifa. In fact, you shall be taken through the basement of the Dubai Mall into the elevator of Burj ul Khalifa. Especially, if you have buy a online ticket then do not waste your time in getting into the burj ul khalifa through regular main door. That is just for guests & people of Burj ul Khalifa. You shall not be allowed. For visitors, its like a back door area in the Dubai Mall. So, just get into the Dubai Mall. Reach at the counter of the Burj ul Khalifa, show your ticket & they shall let you in. I saw one old German couple who brought a online ticket & getting panic because they were not able to find a way of enterance. Their time was running out. I helped them & just before the closing time of their ticket (6 pm), they were there at 5:59 pm.

Ticket.
There are different rates. There are three observation desks.
One is on 124[SUP]th[/SUP] floor. Ticket rates are following
Non prime time (Between 8 am till 3:30 am & then 6:30 am till closing)
Adult over 12 yrs. 125 dh/3625 Rs
Kids: (4-12 yr old) 95 dh/2755 Rs.
Prime time/Rush hours 4 pm-6 pm (Remember, this time changes with the time of Sun set. As, it is a wonderful experience of looking at sun set from 124[SUP]th[/SUP] floor. So, it is a best time to be there one hour before sun set. In this way, you can enjoy all three states of the day. Like day time, sun set time when things getting darker & evening time when whole Dubai is sparkled with lights.
Adult over 12 yrs. 200 dh/5800 Rs if you book it inadvance. Other wise, right on the spot, you have to pay 300 dh/ 8700 Rs
Kids: (4-12 yr old) 160 dh/4640 Rs.

Floor no: 125/148 also known as Sky Floor
This is like a VIP floor. But honestly speaking, it does not make any difference if you look at Dubai from 124[SUP]th[/SUP] floor or from 125[SUP]th[/SUP] floor or from 148[SUP]th[/SUP] floor because it gives you a same view. In fact, you are just allowed to stay at 148[SUP]th[/SUP] floor just for 30 minutes. After that, you have to go down to floor no. 125. So, I suggest you to take a ticket of 124[SUP]th[/SUP] floor rather than 125/148[SUP]th[/SUP] floor.
Here are the prices:
350 dh/10150 Rs . This rate is same for kids & adults.
For peak time: 500 dh/14500 Rs. This rate is same for Kids & Adults.

After purchasing your ticket. You are taken into the waiting Area. Guide being a group leader will take you in the group in the elevator. Within one minute??yes in just 60 seconds, you shall reach at 124[SUP]th[/SUP] floor of the Burj al Arab. So, Elevator is quite speedy. You are not allowed to take anything (baggage or food) with you.
Especially, if you are a new honey moon couple then you must explore the Burj ul Khalifa & spend a memorable time at 124[SUP]th[/SUP] floor.

This is one entrance of Dubai Mall. You go inside & ask information desk about ticket counter of Bur Khalifa

This is a nearest point of main enterance of Burj Khalifa but it is for hotel guests, residential suites, or business offices. Visitors can not go inside.

This is a fountain area. Every evening after the sun set, fountain show is performed (Duration of 3-4 minutes) along with English, Arabic or Indian Song. It is showed after 30 minutes.

Once you pass by the ticket counter, then you wait here for going to the lift. This is a lobby. Here, you can get information about different tallest buildings of the world.

This is a Bill Board to give appreciation for the construction team who build this building.

Depends on weather, you can get a wonderful view of Dubai from different angles.

Burj Khalifa & Me
As, I spent most of the time in the Satwa, (In between Shaikh Zaid Road & Jumairah Road. So, view of Burj Khalifa always remain in front of me. As, I went any place in Dubai........I always found Burj Khalifa at the background. I passed by this buiding many times. I spent happy new year there. When Fire was erupted in Address hotel, I was present there in Burj Khalifa's fountain area. Whenever, I got a free time........I went to the fountain area to enjoy the Fountain shows with beautiful background musics. I like that place & atmosphere indeed.

This is not a common view. One day, I wake up, looked outside......it was a cloudy. I looked at Burj Khalifa. Half building was covered with clouds. So, I just took the snap. Definitely, 160 floor building....that means a lot!!!!

When I first time visited this building, I took this snap. From near, it's not easy to take a snap. Very funny positions are taken by the people in order to capture the maximum floors of the Burj Khalifa

As for as Dubai is concern.......Yes, I am fully agree with you. This is a bitter truth indeed. I believe in social activities, social gatherings, being a helping hand to the strangers, sharing good & bad moments with neighbors, friends, & relatives so, honestly speaking ......I really miss the factor of "CARE" in Dubai. You have beautifully called it as a robotic life. Nevertheless, activities revolves around just money. People are too busy in their "Bonded" jobs. In most cases, no body even offer you a glass of water. There are many dark side of the Dubai for those who work here. Apparently things look good but in reality, there are many heart broken facts about labor. In Landon or in Chicago......at least, you can do multiple jobs, switch the job, or quit the job but here, you can not especially if you are belong to the poor/under developed countries.
Again, you called perfectly Dubai as a "Soul Less" city. Yes, I am again agree with you. No Feelings, No mercy, No emotions, No regards, No care & most humiliating thing is that high level of discrimination prevails there. Blonds & Arabs both enjoy the superiority based on ethnicity. Our Pakistanis are in worst positions. First, they are looted by the agents, & then they are looted by the employers. I met with almost Pakistani belongs to all classes. I also met with Pakistani Dancers. Everyone has a different story & element of sadness is common among their stories. I met few house maids too who work like a slave. I also met with few Pakistanis who lost millions because another Pakistani did a fraud on the foreign land. The most painful thing for them is that when they try to share the problems then they are taunted "Who ask you to come here?". But majority don't come here with happiness. They come here due to many valid reason & problems.
Anyway, I miss the element of the Humanity in Dubai. I was lucky that I was taken care by my friends but I'm a exceptional case. Other wise, I saw tears in the eyes of the Majority Pakistanis (Males & Females) there. Life is not easy for workers in Dubai.

Discrimination runs so deep in Dubai, that the poor folks who built and look after the city are shipped every evening after work to shady labour camps Outside Dubai.

Yes, you will not find labour loitering around Dubai Malls etc in the evenings, as they have been shipped in large buses to Sharjah and Industrial areas outside of Dubai.

Tourists are enjoying everything in Dubai, whereas the poor live in other areas.

Khair this is a distinction of Muslims. Who are we to blame our Emirati brothers.
