Sagopak, you are a very perceptive person, with an astute analytical abilities. Thank you for all the kind words, highly appreciate it.
You are spot on in presenting the two faces of Dubai. The Beautiful Persona she presents to the world and the actual face of Dubai which makes it what it is. The "Unseen" and the "Untouchable" Dalit face of Dubai, which they never want to show to the world, is that of poor underpaid, slave labor from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, the Brown people, the laborers who Built its Sky hugging Sky Scrapers, Glistening Shiny Malls, the Wide Avenues and Boulevards, the perfect Landscaping, their restaurant service providers, their Cashiers, their Blue collar work force, their baby sitters, their gardeners, their cooks, etc.
The Management positions are mainly held by European who earn 2x to 3x what they will earn in their own native European, American or Australian cities, and all of it tax free, I presume.
Although I have not lived in Dubai, but I have experience of living 25 years in the country that has inspired the birth of Dubai, USA. Dubai is a copy paste image of Manhattan, New York City. Sheikh Zayed bin Nahyan, the Emir of UAE from 1971 - 2004, once said during 1990s that he had a dream of transforming Dubai into Manhattan of UAE. What you see is culmination of that dream.
It would have been better if along with that Dream of Manhattan in the Desert, some Arab Sheikh also had shared the vision of Dr. Allama Iqbal, that of a Respect for all of humanity not just their fellow Arabs or Whites, Honesty, Fairness, Above all Self Reliance and hard work thru their own hands. They were provided a once in a thousand year opportunity to
make something of themselves. Instead they used all that wealth on temporary Gain, of Show Off, and Haughty pride to satisfy their ego. South Korean, Taiwan or even Singapore, are respected more in the World, because of their self reliance thru education.
Almost everything in Dubai is imported, even their bottle water. Whole Dubai is like an Oasis, or an illusion that one sees in Desert. It will all vanish once their Oil Wealth and High Salaries they pay to "Goras" to manage their Desert Oasis disappears. There is no respect in Imported, Wealth bought City like Dubai. Self Reliance thru Education is the key to long lasting success.
This whole world is temporary. We as Muslims believe or Should believe that.
Sorry for a long reply. Keep sharing your good thoughts and photography brother. May Allah (SWT) bless you.
