Santro AC

Dear Fellows,

AC in my Santro Club is putting extensive load on engine. Can not exceed 40/50kmph with AC. Without AC, it can easily reach 80+kmph.
In first gear, with AC ON, if I paddle the clutch, car turns off immediately (too often at traffic signals). Compressor turns off/on too quickly with strange sounds.

I got me car checked with a AC mechanic and he said Compressor is putting load on engine and needs to be replaced. He quoted 9000 for Kabli Compressor of Toyoto.

Help me figure out the actual problem and best prices.

if car's AC was low on gas and oil was not changed for long it malfunctions. also happens if wrong type of oil was put in compressor. gas flowing through it lubricates it. get opinion from other mechanic and if he recommends put good quality oil in compressor. anyway how this load thing started? whats the history?
