Dear Friends

One of my close relatives want to travel to Swat and Kalam (Ushu etc). They have 7 days but they would like to spend 5 days in Sawat. Would apprecaite if you recommended itinirary starting from Islamabad (where its worth staying and no of days).

Also they look for some good Hiace vehicle which will be kept along for a week, if anyone can give recommendations.

Right now, I'm in Swat valley. I'm staying next to PTDC's motel @ Miandam, thanks to my employer. You may check PTDC for stay. I just got back from Ushu valley. I went on to see Mahodand lake. Road from Bahrain onwards is going to be a nightmare!!! I got a 4x4 Prado on rent and paid him 7k for travel from Bahrain onwards. Ushu valley is good but lack of infrastructure is such a big let down. Btw, I started my return from Mahodand lake at 8 PM. I was the last person to leave the valley. If you wanna go upto Mahodand lake or even beyond it, start journey early. I started my journey from Bahrain at around 1 PM - which was bad! I just returned and posted this note.

Travel Gurus Advice required: Skardu trip via N15 ( Naran & Babusar top)

I am from faisalabad and we 7 friends are planning a skardu trip from 9 july to 16 july-17 Our tentative plan is to depart from islamabad at 00:00 hrs n next day breakfast at naran On 0800 hrs starting travel from naran to Chillas. night stay at chillas. next day travel to skardu. Is it okay? We are planned to travel on suzuki bolan 2016 model with alloy rims & michlen good and bigger tyres, would that be ok to go on Bolan? keeping in mind the steep, sharp and short descending from babusartop to…

Thank you for helpful information. What should be itinirary starting from isb. Should stay at Saidu Sharif and then Bahreen? Or directly got to Bahreen, the travellers are women i think they cant push more than 8-10 hrs in a day.
Can they go to Kalaam in a Hiace?
Also does the jeep go upto Mahoodand?
How was the crowd of Kalam? Ok for families? Also it seems PTDC have rooms available for booking, we called them today.

Day 1:
* Start, early morning, from ISB and arrive at PTDC's motel in Miandam... Spend a night there. And, take good rest. Expect a bumpy day ahead.

Day 2:
* Leave for Kalam at around 7 AM. You'll arrive in Kalam at around 10 AM. Visit Utror valley and go see Kandol lake, if possible. I've not seen it but it may be a good place to visit. Stay, in a tent, in Kalam forest. There are excellent tents placed there.

Day 3:
* Visit Usho valley. Go to see Saifullah & Mahodand lakes. Spend a night in Kalam again.

Day 4:
* Arrive at Malam Jabba and spend a night there.

Day 5:
* Head to White Palace. And, from there back to Islamabad.

Discuss this plan with someone who's more familiar. This is just my opinion.
