Sciatica treatment possible without surgery?

Members, if you or anyone you know has gone through Sciatica pain and its treatment, please share the experience. Someone in my family is experiencing this pain which apparently starts from the lower back, near hip and travels through right leg. On walking some steps it becomes unbearable but in a sitting positions it is not there. Is it possible to heal without undergoing a surgery?

Surgery is sometimes needed in cases of elderly person. Most of the cases heal with time, There are no such medicines for Sciatica pain other than pain killers and muscle relaxants which temporarily releases the sufferer from pain. Physiotherapy is a must.

Agreed, I suffered through the same about three years back. I was recommended pain killers and muscle relaxants. I took the meds, but I concentrated more on exercise and trying to go about my usual routine. The pain was unbearable but I decided that I'm not going to sit around. But again, it depends on age and will power. I am fine now AlHamdullilah.

You did not undergo any surgery? Did you opt for physiotherapy? if yes, was it the radiation therapy or exercises?

No surgery or physiotherapy. Just regular exercises and walking.

Does anyone know about a special type of nerve injection which is an alternate solution to surgery? What is it exactly?

Early this year I started having lower back pain. Since it was not radiating into the leg therefore I was advised physiotherapy coupled with pain killers and muscle relaxant.
I searched through the net and found that "salajit" has over 80 naturally occurring minerals and is an excellent supplement to keep you fit and fine. I started taking it on alternate days and within two weeks lower back pain was gone. No additional medicines at all.
Salajit is generally considered as a sex enhancement drug here in Pakistan, where as it has to do with overall health.

Someone I know had extreme sciatica pain and he got treatment from a physiotherapist who used magnetism and some pain killers. The patient recovered after 3 weeks. I have no idea how magnetism helped but the patient is fully fit since 2015
