I'm reaching out to the community with a laundry list of issues I'm experiencing with my 1995 Land Cruiser 80 Series, equipped with a 1HDFT diesel turbo engine and an automatic transmission. I'm currently in Lahore and on the hunt for reliable mechanics who specialize in the following areas:

1. Black Excessive Smoke and Poor Acceleration:
   • The car produces black smoke when revved, and acceleration is not up to par. Any suggestions on experienced professionals who can diagnose and fix these issues would be greatly appreciated.

2. Transmission Issues:

   • Shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear feels like a bit of a struggle, taking about 20 seconds. Are there any reputable transmission specialists in Lahore who can address this problem?

3. Steering and Suspension Noises:

   • I'm hearing odd noises from both the suspension and brakes, and there's some play in the steering wheel. Any recommendations for reliable mechanics who specialize in suspension work?

4. Turbo Troubles:

   • The turbo isn't functioning properly, and the turbo light is never on. Should I consider a complete engine overhaul, or would replacing the engine be a better option? Any experienced professionals for turbo and engine work in Lahore?

5. Shaft Noise and Uneven Height:

   • There's a strange noise coming from the shaft, and I've noticed the car seems to be lower on the right side by almost an inch. Suggestions for specialists who can address these issues would be fantastic.

Excuse my ignorance, but is it simply because the 80 series is so old that most of its parts are worn out, thus hefty repair bills?

Or is it just unreliable in general.

LC80 if properly maintained is arguably the most reliable vehicle like the 60 series. If not properly maintained, it's like a modern BMW which just waded through a foot of water.
Parts, haye!! What to say, even the Kabli ones (most unreliable and at the fag end of their miserable existence) cost an arm, a leg and a new kidney thrown in for jacking up the bill. Savvy?
