I have come across a Solar energy solutions provider that have recently started their residential sector. They provide Net Metering which means you can sell your excess solar energy back to K-electric, Lesco, Iesco etc.

Normally 50% cost of total investment is of batteries. Your investment is 50% less now since its battery-less. Payback period is within 3 years & then 17 years of profit.

You need to have minimum 5 KVA WAPDA grid load connected and consumption be 100% before you can apply for net metering.

At what rate Lesco buys a unit? And with 1000 Watts panels how much we can earn if system runs for a whole day and no domestic consumption, means all energy will go to Wapda.

K-Electric buys at the same rate at which it sells you. If K-E selling you a unit for Rs.44 it will buy the same unit for Rs.44. For Lesco its off peak rate.

Minimum you can make 80% of the installed power in worst case scenarios but usually its 90%. So you can make 900 Watts in a day.
So you sell energy in the day time and consume it at night, removes batteries completely. Also, this is very good for businesses because Saturday & Sunday no electricity consumption. So you can sell electricity back to grid and when you start consuming from monday those 2 days units sold will be deducted from the final bill.

Yes, net metering is bi-directional meters. Only Licensed companies can get it approved from K-E or lesco etc and then install it. Greenewable solar is Licensed.

Its around 15k that includes installation. The company will apply it for you and handle all headache.

I have 5k on grid system installed at my home in Karachi. I was awarded my NEPRA license on 9th Of December 2019. Recieved my electricity bill for the period of Feb-March on which KE adjusted the bill by the effect of Net metering but they haven't mentioned Meter Units Exported and Imported on our bill.

Do you know how KE monitors the actual usage and supply by the consumer.
