Serious Drawbacks of Corolla SE Saloon 2004-2005

Really i am planning to buy one but most of the people around me hesitant. So my question to all what is the problem withis corolla variant?

I am the owner of toyota corolla se saloon. I have been using this car since two years. To be honest i have enjoyed driving it a lot. It is a powerful car as compared to xli/gli. Its drive is excellent. I have never ever encountered any serious issues. Actually our people think as it is 1600 cc therefore it has very high fuel consumption but i dnt think it is true. As its power to weight ratio is good therefore there is not much of a difference in fuel consumption. If you want to enjoy then you should opt se saloon but if you want resale then you should go for xli/gli.

it was a decent car,the only thing that would concern me would be fuel economy (that too in the manual one) if you can live with figures around(10kmpl) you are good to go but in a realistic world that is too low for me

there is nothing wrong with a se saloon. we bought an auto se saloon in 2009 and is still with us. except the fuel average which is between 9-10 km/l if driven properly, it is a very good car. the car is currently with my elder brother in Nowshera and he visits isloo every weekend and Lahore 2 3 times a month. have taken the car to its limits and it serves really well(even after more than 100k on the odo). the brakes are fine as long as you use original brake shoes and good tyres. using nitto japanese tyres on original rims. gives excellent mileage on cng as cng is available most of the time in Kpk. it gives 120 kms in city in 55 l cylinder

Sometimes you feel that there should have been ABS being top of the line variant of its times.

it's a nice car provided you don't get an abused piece. If you managed to find a properly cared after vehicle, you will definitely enjoy the ride quality.

Its a very good car, never listen to those who want a cart for resale even they keep it for next 5 years.. SE Saloon is a very good car of it age, i still own one and love to keep it even its garaged as i know i ll not find such clean ride if i sale it due to relocation from PK.
So best part is if you get 1st owner take care car got for it. consumption is not much higher, may be 2,3KM with xli but add the power and features which you will get at lower price then these Cart(xli).

Wow .... Brother you are getting outstanding average on 1600cc engine in city (120kms - 55 cylinder).

My Alto VXR 2008 gives 154kms without AC and 122kms with AC in city (55 cylinder).

We own one se saloon since 2003 its been 11 years and the car is going fantastic much much better then xli/gli !

Sir alto ka average tou ap ka buhat acha hai my friend is getting max 100 kms with 70% ac on 2011 alto vxr company fitted cng.
