Shahdara Family Picnic Point, Islamabad

we visited Shadarah picnic point. Its family picnic area, and we enjoyed very much there. Its peaceful while u keep ur feet inside cool water and have mango party.

Wahan pohench kr lagta nhi k aap islamabad main ho, rather it feels u r in far flung hilly area. Kafi rush tha aur pooondon ki buhtaat thi .

Its at 7.5 km inside link road from little short of Barakaho, Isd murree road. Its the backside of peer sohawa, i think.
link road is in acceptable condition, few quite bad patches like u r approaching kel from shardah:S

On way to shahdara.... a camel came on road and blocked the road, i requested but he refused........ phir horn per haath rakh lia and he walked aside.

There is a Rock Climbing point as well there.......... pple were trying to go up and fall down. It reminded me a course i participated in Rock climbing by a Foreign group in Astore Valley..............dreadful and dangerous activity that was

I was going down from 500 meter height at a temp of -13 that day

Public Transport limited to Islamabad Muree Road - Shahdra Point, rest is you own, taxi some times available
Food Availability - No, only Tea Pakora that too of inferior quality
Environment is friendly and family supported
No stay - Only day trip, phone not working most of time and you have to exit before sun set

One more thing don't try to visit on weekends.. It's way way rushy... I went with family a wk ago and it was hell rushy.. Nt no doubt a great place for family picnic...

One need own transport, limited food items like biyani pakora waghera. Better keep own food. Not expensive

Better one should go early morning, there will b no rush, pleasant weathet and ample time to look around
