Shell V-Power The New RON Fuel

It has been available at Shell Panjsarki, Rawalpindi since last ~1-2 months I think. My car (Axio) doesn't have even the slightest of knocking now and the fuel consumption has improved considerably.

In August 2016, Concerned Authorities have ordered to stop RON 87 petrol & instead of it, introduce RON 92 at least so from 01-12-2016 on wards,

Both PSO & Shell has now started selling their production of 2 categories of Petrol:
RON 92
RON 95

PSO is marketing RON 92 as PSO ALTRON PREMIUM (Rs. 66.27 per Litre)
PSO is marketing RON 95 as PSO ALTRON X high PERFORMANCE

Shell is marketing RON 92 as Super (Rs. 66.27 per Litre)
Shell is marketing RON 95 as HOBC ( Rs. 81.26 per Litre in KHI, Rs. 84.14 in LHR, Rs. 85.32 in Rawalpindi, Rs. 78.51 in Multan)

RON 87 was not compliant to Euro-II standards while by RON 92 we will match Euro-II compliant fuels now.

If you have euro-IV compliant engine, it is better to use Shell's HOBC or PSO's ALTRON X HIGH PERFORMANCE

It was very unfortunate till last month that Pakistan has started importing Euro-III, Euro-IV compliant vehicle but Pakistanis do not know that our fuel was not even Euro-II compliant so how much damage it would cause to Engines of Pakistani automobiles yet

In KSA, they have:
RON 91 marketing as Regular
RON 95 marketing as Supreme

these RON standards & Euro compliance of fuel has highly significant impact on Environmental friendly steps

Well I have been using RON 97 from Attock petrolium (Lahore, Davis Road Pump), I have been blown away by the performance, response, avg. its giving me. But i think there should be some on-pump verification facility to satisfy customer if they are getting what they are paying for as i heard some bad reviews for PSO, i have been using attock petrol (Premium)for quite some time now and always come back after testing some other brands available.

I currently drive Honda City 1.3 (which now behaves like 1.5 (H))
its 85 rs p ltr RON97.

Did you confirm from the pump wala that its 97 ron or any other source? As far as I know only PSO and Shell has introduced new upgraded fuel.

Sir its been advertised by them they confirmed me that its RON 97, they said if you ask we can arrange testing of its purity after some time or if you want to confirm with any lab .. take sample.

I am confused what is new in new fuel. Hioctane fuel was already there than what was the reason of changing or launching a new name for it like V power. what i think they are making people fool by just changing names. So here's the deal. V-Power is RON 95 and has 5 main additions to the previously plain HOBC:
1) Cleans the engine and the fuel system of varnish and carbon build up
2) Protects the engine and the fuel system from the above
3) Improves mileage
4) Increases performance (Nitro)
5) Knock inhibiter added

Hope this clears some confusion.

As for Super, the govt has forced all oil companies to upgrade from RON 87 to RON 92 and this will be done by all companies gradually. Shell is in the process of doing so. PSO has already done it and their "Super" is now called Altron Premium.

Agree, 87 is still 87, they will change gradually. PSO call it altron, but for now only new sticker on dispensers.

so you are saying u have add something in same old high octane fuel, which will improve engines efficiency. wasnt high octane 97 ron? and of course you can check confusion of people by the titlle pf thread. "new Ron Fuel"
basically ron nos are still same on every brand? so what these car guyz are feeling hahahaa;-P oh performance has been increased

Anyways when 92 ron will be in market? this was the question about what shellz employees were blank.?
But appreciate able thing is shells normal fuel is better than pso high octane

i recently got a tank fill up at the battle axe station, on shami road. they claimed that the super variant was now being offered with a 92 RON rating - have i been lied to here? did they too, just rob me of my hard earned $???
